Yeah! First Wario platformer!

I liked the power-up system where each power-up has it's pro's and cons. I think it's a good system. Although it's kinda off-putting if you get hit once, you go back to small Wario even you have a special power-up.

Levels were fun, although some levels felt uninspired with it's enemy placements.
I like you have secrets in this game, going to speedrun this game doesn't give you the full game. Also there's secret treasures which if i hadn't completed the game i might have tried to collect them all.

Compared to Mario, some collisions have different consequences like you don't go little if you bump into an enemy. If it has a weapon, it will. Also throwing or jumping from below the enemy doesn't make you hurt as well.

I also liked that the credits scene reflects how much treasure you've collected like in Wario Land 4.

So yeah, you like Wario Land games? You can't go wrong with this one.

Not as complex and pretty short if you don’t go game over because you need to start the whole game all over again. Enemies were unique compared to other Mario games. And you save Daisy instead of Peach? Definitely the most official Mario game that’s not Mario!

What a messed up VN. The setting is already gruesome but yet it gets worse deeper into the story. And I'm not even had gotten through with the 18+ patch (because there are scenes with Saya are IMO not something i should read due to her appearance) which would made it even more dark/gruesome.

About the story: What i like the most is how a person can be so messed up due to a change in his worlds' view. How he lived is something i will never want to live and i can definitely see why he become the way he are. It's still messed up on how that perspective can degrade the main character during the story.

The story still was an hentai though, there's hentai elements here and there even if you read the Steam version. The censorship isn't that bad, you still know what happens even though they skip all hentai scenes and censor the really explicit parts (shadow/zooming on the non-explicit parts). That's good since otherwise the gruesome stuff would be ruined a bit. Still, it's better for me to not see them for my sanity.

I think the first half was stronger than the latter half, yet it didn't stop being messed up which means i was getting accustomed to what the VN offers and the focus became more on the side characters how to deal with the main character and Saya.

I didn't feel really for MC and Saya TBH. After all what they've done and the "tragic couple" smuck. Some character designs felt "Hentai-ish" because of the female designs, it were only Koh's and Omi's designs that had this for me though.

Overall. Messed up. Not as strong as i had hoped to be in the end. Still, good story for what it was though. I do feel the story really wanted to be Saya and MC happy since the other endings considering "good" were "bad". But even still it's kinda up in the air if that was the case.

First non-VN anime game to play. I think the game was not high-quality though because there's a lot of asses that was being re-used especially monsters but then maybe bigger or a different color to identify that it's a stronger monster. Also some extra levels were just the same with maybe a different layout.

Story was not remember able i think, i can remember the places but what the story was... Well.. I don't really know anymore!

While it's more like a standard old JRPG (roaming through land, random encounters, turn-based combat etc.) i do like that the levels doesn't have random encounters. Instead just a monster roaming the level and when you collide you go to combat. I prefer that to random encounters.

I had to grind somewhere in chapter 2 for the final boss. It was too hard if you didn't grind and only defeat monsters that are along the way to the objective. After grinding for an hour or two. I could defeat the boss but then since i was actually over leveled the other chapters weren't as hard anymore since i also level during these chapters even my goal wasn't to grind anymore.

I don't think it was a bad game, I think it wasn't a good one either. i had motivation to beat the game with the normal and true ending. There were still a lot of extra's to do but I'd rather go to the next game than do the extra's tbh.

2012

Cool designs, cool puzzles. Although i have mastered the game, i wished i had not used a guide to get all the achievements.

I do have beaten the game without guides.

Pacman with projectiles and power-ups i think? I can remember not every level was top-down as well.

Probably not the most high-quality game but i may need to give this game a replay to see how good the game actually was.

More of the same gameplay with new characters. Story might be different but after beating this game i was pretty much done with the Neptune series. I don't feel going for the other endings which this game has more than the previous one and you need to do more to get them. And i also don't need a third game that pretty much plays like this and the previous one. Thank you very much.

I'm happy i was spoiled what the ending was with this game. Otherwise i might had some trauma to deal with over this game.

I do think how it was designed in the end was good though since you had to look closer to the screen for the maximum experience.

My first impression of this game was: "Super Mario Sunshine for the PC". I do think the controls and the camera were better than Super Mario Sunshine.

The game had fun levels and you even have mods. Which is nice to see if you want to have some challenging levels (like the secrets in Super Mario Sunshine). And you have pretty much a lot of levels after you have completed the game.

Story was pretty basic as expected from this genre. Not a down side since i prefer more good gameplay than having a thick story in these type of games.
World building was good in my opinion. Every world is diverse in it's gameplay and themes, characters. it doesn't get stale.

Definitely a game to recommend if you're searching an 3D platformer on the PC.

That funny feeling you know you played this game but you don't know on which device played it.

A game where you can play for hours on end. However i was scared of caves and mobs in the dark and caves which resulted me not playing often. It's a fun game with friends but i don't think i will ever play this game on my own.

Probably one of the hardest 3D Mario Games there is. Certain levels were very hard and the controls and the camera system didn't help. But still i can play this game for hours each session and even when you have an huge setback (you die before the shrine sprite in a hard red coin level) i still want to complete that level. I don't always have that kind of motivation when playing a game which makes this game so good.

Story wise... It felt empty though. The story progression were only in a few levels and the middle-end game there's no progression to be found. Only levels to be completed. While i don't need a lot of story, i like to have something when getting like 50 shrine sprites to see the story progress and you know that what you do has meaning to the progress you make.

7th star requirement each level is definitely tricky. Especially the secret levels. But can be done with patience and practice.
I like that this game doesn't have a time limit for most of the levels especially the secrets so you don't have to rush anything. Although there are still some time-limited levels in the game which can be though especially the goop cleaning ones.

I do like the theme better Super Mario 64. Not sure about Super Mario Galaxy though. Haven't played that in a while.

After the game, you still get a lot extra's to unlock (blue coins, hidden shrine sprites, extra hidden levels, the 8th star levels where some are terror). But for me beating the final boss was fine. It means I've finally beaten the game which i haven't been able to in my childhood years.

As a closer to this review:
So... Want a hard Mario game? This is it. Definitely recommend this game!

2015

At the beginning, it was fun and simple. But it became just a grindfest later on. Dungeon in, Dungeon out, Dungeon in, Dungeon out... First for weapons / armour but then also for the gems. I also remember the shadow realm that you need to do weekly. After i while, i just quit since there's nothing else than to grind for better armour for the hard version shadow realm .

I did like the creative side of it. Spent a long time building my own clan hub and my cornerstone. But since the game became a grindfest, i also didn't had the motivation to continue building my clan hub. And then i quit.

I think it was OK in the end. It really needs something more than just grinding. It did had have some mini-games but didn't saved me from just quitting the game.

I think every modern theme park tycoon game needs online multiplayer. Had a BLAST with it!

While i like the story (was to in the beginning-middle of story), i don't liked the combat that much (random encounters, turn-based combat). Also the characters were quite tiny on the map (on the Steam Deck). I think i will like the remake better since it has a better combat system for me and you don't have tiny characters on a map.
