i stopped playing toward the end when it started asking me to "clock" people and examine their genitals before saying they "didn't match" the sex on their own passports. hearing about it all these years, i didn't realize a cis white american man made this game, which depicts ethnic violence and terrorism and transphobia and other stuff that just really, really does not feel like his purview to make into a product.

as a visual novel player -- this is very cute! i love that sonic fans get something so wild as part of their official lore now (TWO lore consultants in the credits!!) and the game has great options to make the difficult sonic runner portions easier. mechanically, it's like ace attorney, where you're gathering things and asked to show them as evidence.

the art and world are so charming. the gameplay is minimal and gets to be very repetitive. buy it and plan to enjoy it for like . . . 4-5 hours, then it becomes, in my opinion, really tedious and not rewarding. the more and more and more added mechanics are so far away and hard to get to, and they don't feel good or fun.

i really enjoyed this, especially as a sale purchase tbh. the gameplay does get tedious -- why do identified plants stay on my shelf when i use most of them exactly one time?? why do i have to flip through this entire book so many times? -- but much less so, and with much more charming lore and narrative, than "potion craft."

really fun. difficult puzzles! some are . . . too weird. also, it has cut scenes with voice acting (potentially odd choice in a game you're supposed to talk over)

i have a good 2022 PC laptop and this game is too much for it. like freezes altogether and crashes. i did not expect that based on previous games from this dev or the previews and art style of this game!

just delightful. simple, really effective, berries can be tricky to find! there's a great guide on steam if you really wanna catch 'em all. i had 78 (out of 100) when i reached the ending.

"reigns" came out 7 months after this. interesting

the character art is EXQUISITE. reminds me of "the emperor" from cartomancy, but even better

calling it horror at all is pretty misleading. but it's very cute!

CUTE and genuinely fun. the cats who take the food and still don't like you are my favorite

really railroady, and the options don't . . . make sense. such a promising idea but really frustrating how it's implemented

2016

i'm surprised by these low reviews. if you like interesting roguelike and survival and strategy games, this is one. i LOVE the art. yes, it's minimal, but it's sparse and striking and the hand-drawn style is unique. if you're a curious, patient card game enjoyer, please check it out.
