when it comes to visuals and narration, this is the best game ever. perfect length, groundbreaking landscapes and character models, amazing story and the thing i personally loved the most about senuas stories: they immerse you into her mind and let you hear her voices. such a complex take on mental health in video games… just wow. also the complex relationship with her mother and especially her father. the way her father resembles the shadows and how her mother resembles the light. how she emphasises with galena. and how you're about to hunt down spoiler the giants three times and each times feels like your the most powerful, but also hurt thing in the world. 🏔️🐻💨
there's so much more i could write about how important this game is, but i'll just leave it right here. never wrote down so many things during a playthrough. it's perfection. here are some quotes that live in my head rent free:
"all her life she’s been alone.
she chose it.
a shield to keep her heart from harm.
a hymn to still the other voices,
the ones outside."
"she is her mothers child. but she is also her father’s."
"we all have names — given or chosen."
"once again she is leaving the sun. leaving the world."
"i’ve killed a god fagrimir. nothing is impossible."
"in my darkest hour, it was an outsider who saved me."

i honestly cried when i was on top of hawk peak and listened to the conversation between claire and her mother :’) magnificent little game for a wonderful weekend! i cannot remember for how long this been on my wishlist, but i'm glad i finally found the 2-4 hours for this catching some fish, flying around, collecting shells and talking to bears, foxes, mice and many other little animals. and i have to mention: the art style is so ✨cozy✨ and artsy! 🐻🐦💨🏔️
