My Friend Pedro
2019

Game died after 1.7.10, 1.8 if you're generous. Every other version after, every offshoot, every single thing that was inspired by Microsoft's grubby greedy brainwashing hands is probably thanks to the UN and the Antichrist combined.
But I can thankfully play the objectively best version without ever paying Microsoft in my life. I can recall the years of development, all the cool things, the childhoods, the modding, the lost media, the old YouTuber culture, the original pocket edition, the creativity, the marvels, the nostalgia, the cringe, all of it. What you have today is a soulless husk of its former glory trying too hard to be a marketable brand instead of a real game, similar to the Roblox hivemind. It has forgotten its roots, its future entrenched in being hip and making nothing but money and nothing else for emphasis. But amen, if you simply turn off the internet connection, you will not see the angry kids, the snotty defenders of their overlords, the awful future.
You can turn to the past. You can see a vast, wonderful world. You can go to any age that you want. You can expand this world as you see fit. Thrive in it. Forget the real world for a little while. Be happy, and do whatever you want.
That is Minecraft. While it will never have a conclusion, a destination that lay where it once was, it thankfully doesn't need one, lest you pass away.
This is your story. Bless the Swedes.
