shit aesthetics in good games
i swear it's good bro
whether they come across as soulless, uninspired, or totally fucking grating - these games need to justify themselves with something other than style

Days Gone is really fun but I've seen tons of people write it off because of how it looks. Murder Miners is a decent Halo knockoff and Condemned 2 probably has better gameplay than the first but is all over the place aesthetically. Fun list
hard for me to weigh in on these cause i haven't played any of them, but days gone repelled me for seeming generic in more ways than just aesthetics. what's so special about it?
It's not really special but I found it solid at what it does. The sandbox feels alive, there's cool systemic stuff in how the zombies work, the combat feels very flexible. It does feel kind of held back in how it is working with really generic ideas but those ideas are used nicely enough that I found genuinelly enjoyable. Not perfect or even great or anything but does what it sets out to do pretty well.
You're so right about Nier Automata. I like how character models (they designs themselves are kinda meh compared to Replicant/Gastalt) but like the world is so boring looking
@mrhoodie funny I'm the complete opposite, I think the designs are just okay but absolutely love the look of the world
wish i could disagree about VLR but yeah the models are kind of ugly looking lmfao
um um um um um um um um um xenoblade Wii’s environments look good it’s just the character models that suck um um um um
