yeah this has always been my favorite Strider, I don't think a lot of people really saw, or still even see, the vision. I share the same thoughts with you on S2 not being all that engaging aside from being briskly moment-to-moment and I always thought this one struck a better balance. the initial moveset/implementation of classic Strider gameplay is great and it expands so naturally, and it's honestly one of the most gorgeous metroidvanias to me, just oozes such a cool vibe. glad you share the vision!
