Super Mario Sunshine: Definitive Edition

Even though it has some bugs (audio/video/continuation issues), it is the best Super Mario Sunshine experience so far, making the game way more enjoyable to play, when it was kind of a hog to deal with in the first place. But there's a downside: it's still Super Mario Sunshine, with the bad physics, level design and unfair difficulty in the places where it had before, but these problems aren't brought by the mod.
I'd recommend this one over the original anytime, and will probably use this mod to finish when I decide to do it, someday.

Pros: Stages are open from the beginning (mostly)
Skippable cutscenes
No boot-out after getting Shines

Cons: bad mechanics because of it being Super Mario Sunshine

YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME.
As far as fan games go, this may be the best fan game I've played so far. It is not perfect, but the amount of work put into it makes every problem seem like oddities of an awesome project that is way too good to be true.

This movie is strange. I didn't feel like it was a good movie, but it certainly was an interesting experience, to say the least.

Horrible, terrible, awful controls. Don't play this version unless you want to feel cheated.

I'm waiting for it to get in a playable state... but what is here is fantastic. It almost looks like an early Dreamcast game.
Hopefully the community will be able to make it playable till the end.

This little thing is awesome to have when you have nothing. There are many different Tetris modes, and was the first time I got to know games like Tetris, Pong, Battle City, etc.
It is bad, but it is also good.

One of the most elaborate among the character mods of Super Mario 64. Sonic controls mostly like you would expect (but slides a bit too much). The problem is that the stages weren't made to go well with speed, so falling down happens all the time, specially on the most jumping accuracy demanding stages.
Underwater gameplay and camera also don't work well.
After all, it could be better, but it was a lot of fun for the most part.

Now this is what I'm talking about. Everything about this game is so gorgeous... the graphics, the style, the soundtrack, the themes, the camera... it is just a masterpiece. If anything, I'd like it to be a little longer, but that's okay, as it still has many collectibles. And the stopping to blow things and the motion controls... gone. David Wise makes it even better in the sound department. But I wish the enemies weren't so lifeless, where's K. Rool, Nintendo?!

Although it has some bugs, it is just awesome to be able to destroy most things in the game with a Falcon Punch and fly through the stages with a Falcon Kick. This hack is a must for the people that love Super Mario 64 and want a new playthrough with a funny twist. One of the best "character mods" for the game.

This remake is actually pretty good. The higher frame rate and the improved graphics would make it the definitive version of the game (if it were actually finished and without the bugs). For an unfinished game, it is very polished and has some interesting quality of life improvements.
From now on, it is my version of choice for this game.
It is a shame Microsoft didn't want to support its release.

The Japanese version is way too hard for me. The points are for the looks and the awesome soundtrack.

I gave this one a better shot now, and it is a very cool game. Nothing incredible, but I liked the level design and overall world characterization, being a fan of Donald comics and the lore of Duckburg.
The soundtrack is very weak and the sound design leaves to be desired, but I would recommend this one for a quick good enough time. Also, the high point for me are the side-scrolling stages.
