I had heard Frog Detective was pretty silly, but I was not prepared for just how silly the game would be. Parts of this game straight-up feel like they are written by a child and I do not mean that as a burn. If you’re looking for an actual adventure mystery game where you need to use your noggin’ to solve stuff, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a fun silly little time, play Frog Detective. It’s only an hour! What have you got to lose?

Quirked up green frog goated with the sauce busting it down sexual style.

Short. Simple. Charming. Adorable.

If you're looking for a bite-sized adventure game, you can knock this out in under an hour, easy. There's not much to it, but it's super cute!

This is one of the funniest games I've ever played oh my god.

Charming little game, about half an hour long so it doesn't take much time to get through. Silly dialogue, cute style, and was overall a nice time. It's pretty surface-level, but the game isn't trying to be anything deep anyway. It's nice :)

Oozes charm for the ~30 minute runtime. Genuinely has some great physical comedy - the animations in general are all hilarious.

FIFA for the chronically silly. It's a bright new day for Mario and friends but they're being real smug about it. Charged has just enough to be considered good and, shit, it's missing a stray gamemode with excellent replayability as the condiment, because the ingredients are all there and far from the expiration date to boot. Better take yo sensitive ass back to FIFA if you can't handle big Luigi stepping on you.

Good enough transition (Birdo reference) to touch upon power ups. In Mario Kart fashion, Strikers has leftover stock for the silly goobers to use. If only a few of them, but that's not all! You have this "megastrike" as the kids say. It's the ultimate fuck you, and the key to victory if your opponent's wii remote is broken. I know I be eating some balls when the CPU thinks he confortable with me. I could have eaten a player's balls but the people I asked to play with me weren't available. Maybe my wording was not convincing enough, what do we know.

I'm obsessed with that Bowser stage in space. Those stages look really rough. I'm talking aesthetic here, genuinely well done stadiums. The first Strikers had neat stadiums and all very classy but it's war Goku ain't no time for that 🤓 you're playing football on trashy waste garbagio and would dare tell me it's not a good game? I won't be fooled. Monty Mole and Petey Piranha also make this a not so boring cast. And the goalists. How did DK even convince K. Rool to lend his infantry? Now I wan't K. Rool megastrike 1440p.

The surreal style and great humor really carried this. Lots of cool levels (especially visually) and ideas even if i feel like some levels could of leaned into their themes a little heavier. And for a game like this the story is good. Not amazing or anything but it works well with the rest. Only thing really holding it back is the gameplay. You will not be forgetting its a PS2 game while playing. Honestly the gameplay kinda sucks and this would be a lot lower if the rest of the game wasn't as strong. Its not always bad and sometimes its fun even especially with all the psychic powers but too much of it feels janky and imprecise, sometimes downright infuriating. But by the end of the day after finally beating everything I can certainly say it was worth it, and I look forward to the sequel

Took me ages of playing it, putting it down, forgetting about it, remembering I wanted to keep playing months later, picking it back up and repeating the process. Happy to say though, that after 2 years of that I finally finished it and it was great! The platforming was fun, the levels were imaginative, and its overall personality was pretty charming. Having each level be a character's subconscious made exploring each level gratifying as you felt like you were constantly learning more about each character. Some of the boss designs did feel unintuitive and its collectathon nature did make trying to 100% it a pain as finding 1 missing collectible in a level sometimes took me more than an hour, but the core gameplay and story were pretty fun so I can't fault it too hard. Very excited to finally try out the sequel now!

characters, dialogue, aesthetics, and overall atmosphere are all time favorites material. it's just too bad about how miserable this is to play in some spots.

it only gets REALLY bad in one or two spots, thankfully but there's room for improvement regardless. perched for the second game later this month. it can really be something special if it keeps what was special here and improves the gameplay.
