Grossly self-congratulatory game that makes a bunch of surface level “robots = black people during the Civil Rights Movement” comparisons and then disappears with 15 hours of your life in tow

I want to give it 5 stars just because of the overwhelming effect this had on the gaming industry but that would be ignoring the games biggest flaw: its unfinished.

Its clear they either ran out of time or money with this game and had to make the decision to just put it out there, because it really suffers in the latter 3rd of the game.

Thankfully with the success this game had it allowed fromsoft to continue to evolve their unique way of making action-rpgs and to actually have enough money to finish them.

While I could go on for hours about problems I have with this game, I could also gush for hours about reasons I love it. I can only complain so much because of my four playthroughs. It's unmatched as a dark fantasy setting in a game and is just so full of unique content. So very rarely do we see content on this large a scale to this high a quality.

Comfort food: the video game. In the most Bethesda manner possible, the game crashed during the final cutscene and I had to re-do the final poriton.

This has to be one of the most nitpicked titles I have ever seen. The critiques launched at this game for every single minimum detail are crazy considering how some other games get easy passes for their flaws.

Finally Bethesda created a main quest that interlaces perfectly with their gameplay and it's a must complete. Compared to their other titles, you don't want to skip the main quest as it completes a perfect gameplay loop for it.

As always, the faction storylines are some of the best content and , thankfully, compared to Fallout these ones are stellar and have some incredible twists and creative moments. Great recommendation towards doing Ryujin Industries and Crimson Fleet Storylines.

Anyways, I can understand how this game is not clicking with some due to the slow start and the complete paradigm shift of how a Bethesda game is played, which is why i would recommend focusing on the main and Faction storylines which take you to as many planets and systems as possible and in turn, those will lead you to new unexpected experiences on a random passenger ship, a new cave on a settled planet or some innocent conversations heard throughout the cities.

roughly 15-20 hours in.

Tentatively a 5 star experience. there are PLENTY of little things about it that are annoying like the UI and some of the space combat, but to b e honest, this game is exactly what i wanted it to be.

Space is the backdrop. it's truly a magical feeling wandering around this world.

- UPDATE AT 55 HOURS-
there are enough little things about this game that do bug me enough to drop the score down a bi, but i have to say that i can sit down and play this game for HOURS at a time for nearly a week straight which is a monumental feat for any game, even TotK didn't grip me this hard for this long. i'm enjoying myself a LOT but things like the GODAWFUL UI and the fact that exploration in the traditional sense is practically nonexistent really do rub me the wrong way.

overall tho, Godd Howard delivered. I'm not even a Bethesda guy, but maybe i am now.

Chegando perto do fim fica chato, monotono e cansativo, é tudo vazio e pouco inspirado, faltou ET nesse jogo.

This game is not great but turning around and driving in the opposite direction, ploughing into rival drivers in head-on collisions at speeds approaching 180 mph, blowing out all four of my tires and sustaining major damage to the body of my car, only to hear the announcers say "Nothin' a little duct tape can't fix!" is an all time gamer moment.
