The first part of this game (up to the Master Sword and the first Agahnim fight) was 10/10 for me, giving you clues about where to go next but never holding your hand too much, letting you explore freely to find some secrets with the items you've obtained up to that point. The remaining 2/3 of the game were overall a bit more confusing about what to do between one dungeon and another, and I had to check a guide to find some useful items in the overworld (I recommend going for 100% items and heart pieces, because in this game you take A LOT of damage in some parts, especially in the Dark World) as some stuff wasn't that clear, but apart from that every dungeon was well designed and the game in general, although pretty tough, was never unfair. I understand why it is considered a classic.

A nice platformer, a bit too derivative for what it offers (sometimes looking more like a ripoff than a homage to DKC/Rayman), but still pretty polished.

Fun game but I can't see shit

Better than the PS3/360 version in my opinion.

A great introduction to the boost formula, with a nice level design and a legendary OST. Perhaps the bossfights drag a little bit, and there is some "Dimps stuff" here and there (looking at you, bottomless pits), but I found the game very entertaining till the very end.

Apart from some depth perception issues I had a great time with this remake. It doesn't add much to the original (which already wasn't the most groundbreaking 3D platformer ever) but it's pretty fun to complete all things considered.

Played via the Sonic Gems Collection on GameCube.
Pretty mediocre racing game, but the artstyle is colourful and the soundtrack slaps hard. 100% completion is highly recommended.

A pretty nice arcade game, with a lot of cool references to 90s/early 2000s Nintendo games. I think the main mode needed a bit more polish, since in some occasions it didn't feel like my fault when I lost some lives, but the final phases of Antonball and the whole Punchball mode were great. Now I'm waiting for Antonblast!

I decided to replay this game after playing through all of the four main classic Sonic games, just for fun. I expected a really bad experience, but... I kinda liked it?
I think the main reason people complain about this game is because of its title, and I think it is legit. If you play a game called "Sonic 4" you naturally expect something that feels like the classics gameplay-wise, so I understand the criticisms on the game engine and the weird physics, but personally I never found any situation in the game that demands momentum-based action. If you see the levels as some automated, almost endless runner-like obstacle courses (and I think it makes sense, since this was originally planned to be a mobile game, before being rebranded for nostalgia's sake) maybe you would enjoy this game a little more, but don't get your expectations too high, of course.

The only viable way to play the first Sonic nowadays. The decompilation on PC makes the experience even better.

The perfect sequel. Everything that I didn't like in the first game is fixed in this one, and everything that already worked is made even better. The only downside of this game (and the only reason I'm not giving it 5/5 stars) is that it hasn't been ported to any other platform besides the original Xbox.

Three great games in an extremely lazy collection. I had a lot of fun playing through all of these (it was my first time finishing Sunshine and getting 120 stars in 64) but I kept thinking that the overall package was half-baked and lackluster. At least I managed to find it for less than 30 bucks, so it made a bit more sense to me.

After Ultimate came out, this became the only Smash game without any reason to come back to.

A really nice hack, with solid level design and some cool references to other games (not only from the Wario Land/WarioWare series). I recommend it to everyone who liked the original game and wants more of it.
