Meh. The gameplay is essentially the same from the original. So. Still very fun moment to moment. swinging around doesn’t get old and the combat system is still engaging. But the lack of gadget options compared to 2018 does put it back and make the system get kinda old after a bit. Story is very whatever. Some characters are very unsympathetic when the game clearly wants them to be sympathetic, and it gets kinda annoying. Some set pieces are still pretty cool tho. Overall, not worth the base 60 dollar price at all. Pretty good time if you get it on a heavy discount and enjoyed the 2018 game, and want something to tide you over till the sequel

alright so i liek this game a lot but it comes with a good chunk of problems. the story i find to be frankly nonsensical and hard for me to take seriously. i find everything with the cult to be very uninteresting, and a lot of times things just happen or people are just at places with no rhyme or explanation and nobody questions it. That, along with the usual sloppy dialogue and odd voice acting that is typical of SH really makes the story hard for me to enjoy at all. I like heather a lot though, or at least the idea of her. Sometimes again, she doesnt really feel like an actual human being with how she reacts to a lot of the story, but her general attitude to everything is a huge breath of fresh air compared to the blank nothingness that is harry and the depressed james.

What really amplifies this as an experience is actually playing the game. Apart from the boss fights, which suck, because SH bosses always suck really badly, the moment to moment gameplay is so fun. My least favorite part of the games beforehand was having to slog through the fog dense town itself, searching the streets for supplies and just weaving through enemies. Especially in 2 where it felt like it took forever to navigate through the town, espeically after the hospital. This is mostly ripped out of 3, and whats left is just a sequence of different liminal space-like locations, each more interesting and scary than the last. The hospital in this game deserves a special shoutout.

The enemies also feel like much more of a real threat, since your weapons, especially your melee ones, feel a lot weaker than the previous games, and the amount of ammo and health items your given feel much lower, especially without the town to explore. It makes exploring these locations feel much more tense and overwhelming. Although this bites back a bit when it comes to bosses, which are such a slog, and some enemies are very annoying, specifically the crawlers.

In general i feel this game is much scarier and its moment to moment events are much more memorable. Some of the scenes already feel burnt into my brain. I really loved actually playing and exploring through. It lacks the introspectiveness and raw emotional impact that the plot and characters of SH2 had however, and if it couldve pulled through with a story of the level of SH2, this could have been one of my favorite games ever. For now though, this is just a really good time. Difficult to say if this is my favorite out of the trilogy, or SH2. Leaning towards 2, but this is very close

not really sure what i think of this game. may be a case of overhype for me but it is very difficult to see how this is treated as one of the best video games ever made for some people. I'm very glad i played it though. I had a lot of fun just playing the game itself. Apart from the sections wandering around the outdoors of silent hill, especially later on in the game, and pretty much all the boss fights absolutely sucked, consisting of clumsily running from corner to corner of a small tight room and shooting a shotgun like 50 times. But exploring any actual indoors section was always very fun and engaging for me, even if any of the enemies you face really never ever pose any real threat. Like sh1, i was never really scared by the game, but it did get me in parts. The sound design is still absolutely immaculate, and everytime i was even a little bit spooked, it was due to the wonderful work that was cleary put into the sound design. Story wise is where im really mixed though. I suppose I didnt really get parts of it. I don't really understand the role of Eddie and Angela for example. And voice acting wise.....I know for some people it really enhances whats there, and they believe its completely on purpose. I really really fail to see how either could be true. It really brought me out of many scenes, especially any scene with angela my gosh. James' journey and discovrey never really hit me hard emotionally throughout most of the story, and i could never fully invest myself in it. The ending letter was really the most effective part of the story and it felt like everyhting before never really lived up to it. Although again the va work really brought most of that down for me

TLDR: Very glad i played game and very positive but also feeling kinda mixed and perhaps a tad disappointed......

man what a weird game. The visuals retrospectively hold up as a style that i find pretty cool with all the dithering. Although none of the character models hold up and any non fmv cutscenes look pretty bad, but thats to be expected with a game this old. The controls took a good amount of time to get used to for me. never played a game with tank controls before. made any physical combat extremely awkward but i got used to it. story wise....frankly... ????????????????. i didnt get it at all LMAO. but i mightve not been paying attention.... Also didnt find it scary really. The enemies especially were enver a scare, either very easy to take out or just franlky an annoyance. However the sound design REALLY does so much of the heavy lifting. It is genuinely incredible and can manage to really do some spooks.
TLDR: Never in my life have i played a game where the sound design was the best part of the game

feel very eeeeeh about this game. the driving sucks...like a LOT. its something you get used to eventually but chasing missions are just 0 fun because of it. frankly if i didnt have a tiny sports car i just taxied everywhere cause it was not fun. Niko is the best part of this game. He's a very interesting character thats funny and has an interesting and sad outlook on life. But I honestly feel the overall grand story just kind of goes nowhere, which is very disappointing. And the missions eventually just felt so samey, with very little variety. Either chase/tail a car around, or go to location and kill a bunch of guys, and really nothing else with few exceptions. I still had fun with this game, and found it very easy to play, but it really isnt too great...

hoooollyyy shiiiiiit.f ucking ten out ten babeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey

very small weird little game. interesting. not much to it

really dont know......leaving this unrated until i know how i feel about the ending
everything before episode 8 is extremely fun, peak umineko,

frankly.....eeeeeeeeh. this is honestly the most eeeeeeeeeeh ive felt towards a yakuza game. a lot of the story felt like kinda like slog. some of the characters were fun and frankly i like the amount of fanservice for long time yakuza fans, just seeing people like mine again is great. A lot of the music is also great. but otherwise its just eeeeeeeeeeeh. side quests werent my favorite, and the ones with friendship bars to fill up were all awful (im looking at you vegetable kid i gave that fucker 100 cucumbers). combat was kinda cool, even if i got my ass kicked. still overall a good time if youre yakuza fan but its far from my favorite

i have such mixed feelings towards this. i found the 1st episode such a complete slog, full of uninteresting (and very cursed, especially from battler) dialogue, and its so long that its hard to recommend. However a lot of this is so fuckin fun if you allow yourself to get sucked into the theatrics of it. The debates between battler and beatrice feels like a lot of the best parts of ace attorney. so idrk. i think a lot of my judgment is going to reserved until i find out all the answers in chiru.....

It is genuinely incredible seeing the amount of effort that went into this game. Every bit of this game feels so meticously crafted to be as authentic as possible while also being as humorous as possible. Being this internet detective during a time of a newly developing internet is such a unique experience and this game absolutely nails it, even leaving off with an incredibly satisfying investigation and ending. My only gripe is that I felt like i wasn't always having that much fun reading through all of the pages. Most of them are very funny and memorable, but not all of them. Yet at the same time you could say that feeds back to the authentic experience of it all, so its not too big of an issue. Overall extremely impressed

weird little game. shockingly fun and pretty charming

pretty good if u like fanservice and want something to play while listening to stuff

this game has genuinely so many problems. it has some of the biggest lows of the 3d games and some insane padding, along with an insanely dead feeling sky world. yet despite all of the usual complaints with the game, it has some of the genuinely incredible highs of the entire series. despite the clear padding i had an incredible amount of fun with it. the dungeons are fantastic. some of the greatest item use in the series. i felt so genuinely invested with all of the characters. and the improvments and quality of life changes the (way overpriced) remake brings really help the great parts of this game shine. another great entry in the legend of the groose series

1st real fighting game (that isnt smash). game be super cool so far
