Finally powered through this after dropping it in the first few hours multiple times over the years. Very glad I did, because yeah, in spite of its quite dated RTWP gameplay - it's a masterpiece. Such a deep and thoughtful story, with incredible writing and worldbuilding. The art and music is incredible as well!

Dare I say that I liked this more than the first game?

I liked this game a lot, but it definitely didn't connect with me as much as the original, despite having numerous gameplay improvements and some superb level design. In my opinion, the story, characters, and overall atmosphere just fell flat compared to the first game.

Great until it isn't. The late-game in this is a huge mess that is a complete chore to get through, and it stings really bad because almost everything that comes before it is incredible. I'd still recommend this to anyone... just don't expect the game to maintain its high quality past Santa Monica & Downtown.

I don't think this is as good as the original Deus Ex, but it is still very fun and an overall amazing experience.

My biggest, and only substantial criticism relates to the pacing of the story in the Director's Cut; just when you're about to reach the crescendo of the story... you're whisked away to do a largely unrelated DLC side quest for a few hours. In a vacuum, its a great DLC, but in the context of the entire game, it absolutely kills the momentum of the story.

I've done all the endings and still can't decide which one is the best. Loved this! Surpasses the base game in most aspects to be honest :)

My first time replaying since Elden Ring came out, and I kind of forgot how much I love this game. Masterpiece!

Wow. Had this sitting in my Steam library unplayed for years. I don't know why this took me so long to get around to, because it absolutely rules. An incredible experience from front to back.
