When is it appropriate to log this as "completed"? My roommate and I have basically done everything there is to do, but still play it once or twice a week together. Solid game to play a few rounds of with others

Blows Stick of Truth out of the water. Did every fucking thing in this game including the DLC. Just a good time, and the music rocks. Again, this game is way solid enough that you don't have to be a SP fan to enjoy it, you just have to have a taste/tolerance for crude humor

New Kid setup: Dragon Reversal, Soul Slash, Grim Fate usually w/ Kenny and Wendy for range

After an exact month of playing this near daily, I think it's appropriate to mark this as "played" to bring up my tally for the end of the year. I haven't completed the museum yet, obviously, but I've upgraded my house a few times and made a lot of progress. A solid AC title to pick up for ~30 minutes a day or so and do daily tasks, but lacking depth beyond that. I still prefer the original and New Leaf to this.

I picked this up out of a loose game bin and it wasn’t even in the store’s system. Surely this is haunted

My 29-year-old cousin laughed at me for how long it took me to pick up this game, and rightfully so, lol. It wasn't really my thing at first, but by the time I had reached the Trevor story I was hooked. My favorite part was probably chasing the plane as Trevor, and all the Rampage missions

I have to be realistic when reviewing this... if you didn't play this as a kid, then it's understandable why you might not get why people like this so much. This was my first ever video game- they had the old McDonald's kiosks at my daycare and I would run around Deflino Plaza and Bianco Hills, admiring everything about this game before I could even read. It became extremely elusive to me, because I never had a GameCube as a kid, and by the time we had a Wii I had no idea it could play these games. I actually only first got my own copy at PRGE in 2018.

There's no doubt that this game is a challenge, but I honestly end up having fun anyways. I don't blame this aspect for turning off other players, though. F.L.U.D.D is such a fun gimmick that gives the game so much whimsy anyways that it kind of balances out that element for me. My main personal gripe is just the rushed ending and amount of blue coins- my biggest wish for this game would to one day see an expanded version with a fleshed out ending and additional shine challenges (but not overly-updated graphics or anything... it's already visually perfect). I don't care if it's not the best Mario game on a technical level or whatever, it's my personal favorite and has a special place in my heart.

Played spring break '22. Huge fan of the original game. This remake is incredible, and insanely dense for a first part. It's a bit tragic that the next installments are PS5 exclusive, though. The combat is super sleek and the visuals are stunning.

I first need to give a disclaimer that I started the MK franchise in 3D, having never played the original which probably biases my opinion a bit.
I paid ~$15 bones for this loose a few years ago, and now that I've played my fill, do I feel like I really got my money's worth? There's no unlockable incentives, and no reason for me to gold-out the cups on 150cc- getting all gold on 100cc felt like enough completion because of that. Additionally, with owning MKDS alone, I don't really know if I have reason to come back to this one, and I’m not even sure if it warrants a stay in my collection.
I do think this game is impressive in its pseudo(semi?)-3D graphics- always a really cool thing to see on the GBA, like with Monkey Ball Jr. and Spyro. However- and this is probably because I've never played the OG- the completely flat tracks became way too repetitive for me, even though there are so many of them. It feels contradictory to have so many tracks but for so many of them to be slight regurgitations of each other. Whatever, Cheese Land is my favorite track.

Hands down my favorite Mario Kart. The gimmick is perfect, the handling is incredible, I can rely on this game to cheer me up instantly. Both peak nostalgia and just a good time all around.

My go-to team is Koopa Troopa and Paratroopa, but honestly messing around with Paratroopa pairs is fun (especially now that I have Petey).

I fucking love this game, man. But I don't think I can bring myself to actually 100% it without going insane

This was my first Kirby game (I don’t count Dream Course, lol). This is one that I picked up when I had some free time after work, and it’s a very good mindless experience. Not a favorite, but enjoyable enough, and the copious amount of copy abilities gives a lot of versatility (my favorite is Wing). Not sure if I’ll do the Extra mode, but I did grab as many energy spheres as possible (116/120). A solid Wii experience

The first Mario Party game I've ever played. I got this for my roommates and I to share on the apartment Wii, so nine times out of ten I'm drunk while playing. And I feel like that's the only way this can really be enjoyed. Marking as "complete" since I just beat the story mode (which was exhausting), though it will stay on the shelf for drunk party sessions. This game just feels like it lacks a lot of substance, both in gameplay, environments and features, in typical Wii fashion

Go-to character: Dry Bones

Incredibly charming style to this game, very reminiscent of its time. Feels tailor-made to play on a Mac in an apple store in 2010

Played during spring break '22. In this game, your "mana" is fart magic which can be raised by eating burritos, but if you eat too much you shit your pants. Truly a clever battle system. You won't like this if you're morally above fart jokes

Enjoyed this, especially as a fan of older SP and not so much the new stuff.

A solid game to have some fun with, but not a great game. Enjoyable if you don't let yourself be too critical- plus, it's neat to have a Dreamcast experience on Gamecube- and Chaos is a very cool villain.
