imagine if you had a dog you really loved and then 15 years later someone brought you a fucked up new version of your dog that looked slightly off and also fucking sucked because it couldn't do cool backflips like your original dog. that dog is this game.

great ass game some chick in high school played it on an emulator and she wanted me but i said nah

About as good as a 1994 PS1 racing game with one track and four cars could possibly be.

The type of racer where you play an absolutely diastrous first minute and yet know perfectly well that if you put about an hour in, you're gonna be pretty good, and if you put about two hours in, you're gonna see the face of God.

went in expecting a fun time with some girls, came out realizing I've never felt true stress until I had three girls simultaneously trying to rumor bomb me while trying to squeeze in the fireworks date with Ayako while Yumi and Yuko are both screeching about walking home with me

"Insert the cheese and...latter. Good luck."

Half of the game is a Bosconian clone with no radar to help one find that last base to destroy, the other half is a decent shmup with some rather cheap sections that require some memorization. Still a decent game to play through, but the sequels are better.

Absolutely beautiful - a game that manages to push the Saturn to its absolute limits, boasting a lot of things for a game on a console which was very complex to work with, and was inferior to its competition.
It's just so shocking how wonderfully crafted everything in this game is - from the fully voiced cutscenes with motion capture, to the unique worlds with a blend of fantasy and sci-fi, and a wonderful hybrid combat system managing to combine the on-rail shooting from the previous games and a real-time JRPG system similar to Final Fantasy VI - it's clear the devs wanted to end the Saturn with a bang, and they definitely did.

Everything in this game is full of life - there's never a dull moment in the world of Panzer Dragoon, and nothing feels forced in or out of place, everything serves some purpose, whether its the main characters that are integral to the plot, or travelers you pass by, every character, even the fully detailed monsters that add to the post-apocalyptic setting, it all just comes together wonderfully and creates a completely unique experience - there is nothing else like it, and there will never be anything else like it.

It's just a damn shame that this game never sold any copies. Critics praised pretty much every aspect of this game when it came out, and initial copies of the game has all sold out in just two days of the game releasing in North America, so for Sega to completely ditch this game and bury it with the already dying Saturn is pretty tragic, should have gotten a re-release or a remaster but apparently the source code has been lost to time as well. At least we have emulation i guess.

i palyed this game as a joke once but immediately found that this game's track list includes B4U and before i knew it i was going ham with mickey and the gang

mista white let’s cook up a fluid, creative movement shooter with understated depth and a cool core gameplay loop, but make sure we smother it with marketing and optics so cringe that 95% of the western consumer base physically can't take it seriously

would've had a lot more fun with it if the definition of ffb in this game wasn't just "give constant vibration to the wheel every second" making my friends on call think i'm driving a tractor while playing it

BACK WHEN YOU JUST PLAYED GAME AND HAD FUN NUFF SAID

STILL FUN NUFF SAID

FUCK SONY NUFF SAID

(PAL PS2 release, original handling)
Immaculate vibes, decent enough handling but the track selection is abysmal. There are two highways(one decent, one boring), two mountain passes(a bit too winding considering how much vehicles tend to understeer but they're fine) and the Suzuka race track(good). That's just 5 tracks total and while they can be played in reverse that doesn't do much to save the game. The selection of vehicles fares better and features quite a few fun oddities but there is no incentive to actually use most of them. In the end even with its short runtime of about 5 hours the game manages to feel really repetitive. It's a shame because with a better selection of tracks this game really could've been something special.

this game ruined my life (good)

The only thing that can really be called peak.
