I've played I.V but this is a review for the 1.25 version, which is well worth experiencing. I recommend playing it to further appreciate the enhancements of the I.V version.

YIIK is a pretty humorously written game that's easy to laugh along to. It has really insane and confusing lore but if you're a Homestuck fan like me that's all the more reason to love it. There's a lot of content to sink your teeth into like ONISM but its optional so if you're not interested don't have to read it but I do recommend it. Its easy to follow along the story with its superb voice acting, all the voices fit the characters really well and it feels a bit more real and less anime to me which is nice.

Gameplay wise it's not great. There's a few mid dungeons and the battles take a while even if you know what they're doing, so I recommend skipping a few battles here and there which is easy to do. There's some fun minigames to do in battles but they can get repetive since some of the moves theyre assigned to dont do a lot for you, so you do a lot of the same attacks which means the same minigames. But since its consistent you can get really good at them and clear house. I had a good time with it but its easy to see the flaws and jank in it.

Overall it's a pretty great game and one of my favorites of all time but I don't want to oversell it to you. Give it a chance and if you just want to laugh at the absurdity of the game and don't care about the gameplay, go behind the tree in front of Alex's home and press "Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Cross, Circle, Square" a sound que will play and you are able to skip any battles you want if you hold the speed up button. Fun little cheat code.

Peak mega man game, definitely the hardest of the classic games but immensely satisfying. Both characters, despite what a lot of people say, are really balanced and have their own sets of advantages and disadvantages. Plus has a collectable system which encourages you to play the game twice with both characters.

The weapons in particular are great and there's a lot of crazy stuff you can do with Ice Wall and Lightning Bolt in particular. Ice Wall allows you reach higher areas, and has a niche technique where you can jump off it and switch to another weapon for the height advantage in a boss. And lightning bolt lets you stay in place on the screen which has a great use in a lategame boss fight. The game's expanded shop system and it's different approach to the level select makes it feel really fresh and new in comparison to other Mega Man games.

"Something about her compelled me. Pieces of her story started to fit together in my mind. Well at least that's what I had thought at the time. I can admit now that some pieces were pure fabrication on my part."
