Havent seen magnolia but i imagine this is what its like in game form. Pretty cool story, I understand its rated teen but I wish it took itself more seriously sometimes (some of the ideas presented within the story are pretty morbid). Can be a bit predictable times but the story has a ton of twists you wont expect so it balances out. Gameplay is pretty fun once you get into it. Never got super attached to the story/characters. Really nice ending that tied everything together., Cool little game

i love the vibe of this game and the sentiment is great but unfortunately the story holds it back a little from being something truly special. also the social links (or whatever you may call it) are pretty inconsistent (akuta and sora are great though.) happy ending is really great. if you're a danganronpa or persona head looking for something to play check this out

the end of my kill the past journey (hopefully for now), thank you grasshopper for this insane experience.
had alot of fun with this game. wish it was more polished but it was a great time and fu is a great villain. travis is travis as always and after tsa i think im more emotionally invested in him.played on bitter and it felt like a reasonable challenge. open world could be alot better, everything other than santa destroy and perfect world sucks and the invisible walls everywhere are horrible lol.

like tsa this game has alot of really cute stylistic choices. the travis/bishop podcast thing and the chibi characters (post credits cutscene) are soo cute. grasshopper did a good job with this one, i just hope that they take their time with their next game because the past 2 no more heroes games have felt a little rushed.

a game made for grasshopper fans (not for nmh fans), i can greatly appreciate how personal this game is for suda and how open he is about his emotions and his journey in his life and the gaming industry. a love letter to indie games too, i love how there's a whole level about how awesome hotline miami is lol. maybe its a skill issue but i found this game to be pretty challenging at points (in sort of a bad way). art style is really cute. soundtrack is amazing, one of the best in the kill the past series. enjoyed this alot but i feel like its close to being something really incredible.

in which grasshopper desperately struggles to make a no more heroes game without suda's full attention. barely 8 hours, bad levels, bad bosses, great music, too much fanservice, just mediocre overall imo

again suda has left me speechless, theres so much i want to talk about in this game and im not going to be able to get to all of it, with a story so dense and suda's storytelling style of "leaving some things unsaid" im probably gonna be picking apart this game for days or weeks on end.

i guess ill start with the art style, which is the first thing that piqued my interest in this game. in a world where character sprite vectors are extremely high resolution, highly detailed, and perfected, it's so refreshing and cool to see this game's approach to the art style. character portraits are the opposite -- imperfect: you can see the brushstrokes lining osato's hair, you can see the scribbles left by the artist on tsuki's tie. beautiful drawings flash on the screen for a few seconds and then never show up again. i cant praise it enough, it really looks amazing and unique and is probably my favorite art in a video game.

the music is incredibly creative too but its akira yamaoka so you didnt need me to tell you that. the insane selection of sounds in one of correctness's main tracks, de/crypt, is just insane. incredible

not gonna get really deep into my interpretation of the story but the fact that this was written in 2005 is kind of mind blowing, before everyone having a twitter account, before your corporate standing being dependent on your linkedin, before internet personalities became a method to being a multi millionaire. humans become computers and computers become humans. don't like yourself? it doesnt matter anymore because you can exist in cables and wires, for better or worse. i guess god is in the net.

haven't even talked about kamui yet but this review is too long already maybe ill edit it later. i say this for every suda game i play but im never gonna experience anything like this again. i hope this new grasshopper title is something weird as fuck and interesting like this. peak.

blown away, this game is fucking insane and i dont think i will ever play anything close to it, stylistically incredible and maybe the best voice acting ive ever heard. pretty fun too.i love you ulmeyda

insane game from the mind of suda. people either fall in the love it or hate it category and i'm somewhere in the middle. i can definitely appreciate what he was trying to go for and the silver case tie ins made me smile but the kind of convoluted story (i know thats the point and i actually kinda like it) with the gameplay (that at points made me want to kick rocks rather than watch sumio walk around desolate ds wastelands) is kind of an unholy pairing.

this game is weird as fuck and definitely something i don't think i'll ever experience again. however i do think i will come to appreciate this game more with time. onto killer7

really really good. theres so much in this game its hard to compile all of my thoughts after that hell of a final chapter and prologues.person from the late 90s idea of a technology dominated future that is pretty accurate and poignant. amazing art style and music. was kind of blown away by the placebo ending tbh i didnt expect that heartfelt of a story from a suda game lol. dying to play 25th ward

my new favorite persona game with the best characters, best story, and best ending. i was a mess by the credit roll

combat is such a huge improvement over the previous games. extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time. its so satisfying to see one of your fusion moves fuck up an entire squad of 5 enemies but random encounters can just as well kill you and squad wipe you if you're not careful. not to mention it is soooo much faster. literal game changer. only thing weird is that the attack order changes every time but the menus are so fast you get used to it.

i didnt mention this in the last review but i dont really like the whole thing of choosing every party member's persona -- having 5 party members each with their own affinities with certain tarots and adding considering fusion spells (which you will NEED to take into account) is kind of too much for me.

the characters are incredible and realistic. katsuya is in contention for being my favorite persona character but the whole main cast is amazing. i pray that one day persona is able to have another cast of adult party members because it makes for a much darker and different game than the other personas.

i dont really know what else to say other than play this game. its peak

writing this immediately after finishing the game. i should have probably played this on the ps1 but the combat never really bothered me since my emulator came with speedup (if you play the psp version this is almost essential) which really helped my experience. the combat sucks, in comparison to persona 3+, and the game is extremely easy overall. i only had one boss fight that gave me trouble. its more akin to smt in that it centers around many small dungeons instead of one or many large ones, which i think the game benefits from.

maybe my expectations were too high going into it but i didnt connect with this game as much as i thought i would. the story is fucking batshit crazy but the ending saves it. really the ending saved this game from being a 7 and pushed it up to around an 8.5. some parts of the story my jaw was definitely glued to the floor and that includes the ending.

the characters are pretty good, but this game made me realize how the calendar and social link system reealllyyy fleshes out the characters to their best extent. while the story provided adequate character development and background for the main cast, the little moments in persona 3+ where the party is bantering and bickering really add to my connection with the characters in a way i hadn't realized. dont get me wrong the characters in this game are great, i just wish we had a chance to see more of them since most of the game revolves around dungeon crawling.

overall its a really good game, perhaps on par with 5 but i think 3 remains my favorite. maybe this review will change after i play eternal punishment. stay tuned

this game is so awesome... passion project for sure. so much detail and effort poured into every crevice of this game it's absurd. not perfect but i enjoyed it so much it deserves a 10. gameplay is such a huge improvement over the last game to me, i actually enjoyed the combat in this game. all the characters have my heart (esp rindo fret and shoka) please play this.
