Started playing this after Yakuza 0, not knowing what would happen in Kiwami. Seeing the bond between Nishiki and Kiryu break was absolutely gutwrenching.

I was afraid i’d get super frustrated with this game but failing the levels actually made me want to finish the entire thing. (+ the art style is gorgeous, but no surprise there)

This sequel is definitely upgraded gameplay wise. I’m not a big fan of the Rabbids voice acting/lines but overall this game was incredibly fun. I’ll continue 100% this game for sure.

What’s there to say? I enjoyed it a lot and the finale is just twist after twist. It’s a bit much, but that’s honestly part of the charm. The Majima Saga was a nice touch, though the gameplay is a bit repetitive.

It’s been exactly 2 years since I finished my first Yakuza franchise game (Lost Judgement) and i’m no where near done! So of course i had to start my 2024 by finishing another installment.

I’m going to be honest: I find this game difficult to rate. There are some really high highs and some very low lows in this game. Getting to play as five(!!) main protagonists in this was great. Shinada was a great addition with an interesting story, as well as playing all the rythm games as Haruka. Having all their stories connect is both the strong and the weak point of this game. I love figuring out the plot, but the story just drags on forever - i feel like they wanted to much and just….kept adding unnecessary stuff. Some plotpoints felt forced and certain gameplay parts took forever (looking at you Saejima).

Yet, overall, i think it’s a very memorable installment. Way more than Yakuza 4 (which I actually enjoyed, in contrary to many others i believe). Plus getting to play as my personal favourite Akiyama wins the game some point. Settling on a 3,5 stars rating for now.

I mean, it’s a fun little 4 hour game. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought it would, but nothing groundbreaking. I do love the introduction to Mr. Scratch as a villain here, but the other characters and dialogues just weren’t as well written.

A short but sweet puzzle game where communication is key. Some of the puzzles took some time to figure out but they aren't too difficult overall. It's fun to piece together parts of the storyline together with the other player. The ending really surprised me (in a good way)!

Fun game overall! I would rate this a 3 1/2 stars.

I tried playing this in 2019 as I got it for free with PSplus but I shelved it. These type of games (gameplay wise) usually aren’t for me because i’m absolute ass at it. However with the HBO show coming up I decided to give it another go. The storyline really kept me going and once I found a play-style that suited me I just HAD to finish it. I totally get why this is a fan favourite.

I really dig the rogue-like/village building combination. I thoroughly enjoyed making my cult look nice :) a prison for disserting cultist never looked prettier!

One big downsight though: the switch version of this game was very buggy, which made me lose a lot of progress. Latest patch fixed some things but it’s one of the reasons it took me a long time to finish this.

Enjoyed playing this mystery puzzle game! The start of the game felt a bit rocky (classic trope: not remembering what happened to you and immediately being send off to do a quest) but the pay-off to all this was satisfying. It was fun getting to know the characters, but I'm sad I couldn't delve deeper at times - especially for a dialogue based game. Props for having an amazing soundtrack tho!

This game has been sitting in my steam library for years on end. Got it in a sale once, played the first hour or so and left it backlogged for ages.

With Alan Wake 2 catching my attention, i’ve decided to give this game another go - mind you this is not the remastered version. I really vibe story thematics and the general idea of this game. Finding the missing pages and uncovering more of the story alongside Alan was great! However gameplay wise i think the game has become a bit dated, sometimes even excruciatingly difficult for no good reason at all. Don’t think i’d play this again, but it was fun nonetheless!

Great co-op platforming game! Loved unlocking the different skins and creatures. Scratch cards were a fun little touch :) though the grind to get platinum is a bit too much

Very fun game overall. I think it’s one of the better installments in the franchise, though it’s not as good as Until Dawn. Would definitely recommend playing this with a friend on the first playthrough.

Very fun game, however some of the co-op features could’ve been better. The mini games gave it some variety, though 100%ing is a bit tedious.

Clearly the most dated game in the franchise. I struggled a lot with the combat and side quest tracking. That being said, I did enjoy the story even though it’s super corny. Kiryu really deserved some downtime in Okinawa after everything he’s suffered through.
