I was pleasantly surprised by this installment. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like the chapter system for all the protaganists, but I loved it. Akiyama is easily became one of my all time favorite characters of the franchise. Not a big fan of the side quest tracking system of this one though.

I didn’t think a medieval murder mystery would leave me emotionally scarred, but here we are. Pentiment is a beautiful piece of storytelling and artistry. Trying to uncover the mystery of Tassing piece by piece, spanning multiple generations - the story really had me gripped and left me wanting more each act. It really felt like the choices I made and the things I said mattered.

I find it difficult to put into words how much i've enjoyed playing this game. There are few games I can play endlessly from start to finish, without becoming bored of the gameplay or story. But Yakuza 0 had me in a tight grip and I just wouldn't let me go.

The main storyline is absolutely heartbreaking and gutwrenching at times, while the side-stories provide some great comic relief. The gameplay itself is easy to get into, though completing the game 100% is pretty much impossible for a casual gamer. Some of the minigames, like JCC, are an absolute nightmare, but that would be my only critique.

Absolutely worth playing. 84 hours well spend on my part.

Yakuza 6 aka Kiryu forgot to teach sex ed at the orphanage.

All jokes aside: I know this installment had mixed reactions from fans, but I honestly liked this way better than yakuza 5. I’m a bit over the Haruka as damsel in distress trope though, but I think the overall narrative and story of 6 was powerful. The final chapter really hit hard for me.

Having played the story consecutively 0 through 6: i’m glad we’re back on the dragon engine. I honestly don’t know why people hate this combat/leveling system so much, i’ve been thoroughly enjoying it.

Great send-off for Kiryu for now (even though we’re getting 8 soon).

Just finished my first playthrough playing as a drow circle of the spores druid. I have about a thousand thoughts about this game, but all I can say now: this has easily become one of my favourite games of all time. There’s so much content and even after about 120 hours: i am no where near being bored of it. The replayablity is insane, i feel like i’ve only scratched the surface. I’m definitely starting a new playthrough.

I hadn’t played any of the Yakuza type games before this and I decided to test the waters with Lost Judgement. I was instantly sold. The gameplay is incredibly fun and diverse - I just roamed around town for hours and the school subplot is just so much fun.

What can I say? It’s honestly a lot of fun, varied level types and difficulty, vibrant scenery… what more can you ask of a Mario game? Playing this in co-op was great, but it has it’s limitations playing as the non dominant player. Great installment altogether!

Having just finished TLOU, I decided to continue on with TLOU2. I heard all about the commentary it got prelaunch so I braced myself a bit. However, I actually enjoyed this game more than I did the first. Excellent storytelling, though a bit long, but the pay-off is worth it. Think it hits extra hard because you’ve really bonded with these characters.

Let me just start by saying that I very much enjoyed this game. I’m very glad they decided on a western release. Honestly a great stand-alone game and one of the more fulfilling endings in the franchise.

However the grind in this game is anything but fun. Having played through the series i’m used to quite a bit of it but this game takes the cake. The substories weren’t as memorable as the ones in the main series either. I felt like both of these take away from the overall rating. Settling for 3,5 stars now.

Absolutely phenomenal game! This game has it all for me: horror/thriller theme, interesting characters, fun gameplay and a conceptually strong story. It vaguely reminds me of my favourite show Hannibal, like somehow the vibes been incapsulated in a game.

I have to be honest: i got the first Alan Wake game in a steam sale once YEARS ago, played it for a bit, shelved it and forgot about it. Ended up seeing the Herald of Darkness gameplay on my fyp and that immediately drew me in. It’s so incredibly camp - decided I’d go back and give this franchise (and other Remedy games) another go. Played Alan Wake 1 and followed up with this one immediately after.

I’m absolutely sold on this universe. I get it now. I’m gonna continue om with Control…

I’ve played a lot of Resident Evil games, but I’ve never gotten around playing RE4. So I can’t comment on how this compares to the original. But not knowing anything about this game made this such a fun experience for me. This game has pretty much everything. Compelling storytelling, interesting characters, way over the top dialogue/one-liners and great (and challenging) gameplay. Might try and give this another playthrough soon.

A turning point in the series in both gameplay and cast, but i’m pleasantly surprised by how easy it was for me to get on board with the changes. Ichiban Kasuga is an amazingly fun, kindhearted and spirited loser protagonist who instantly won me over. I’ve got 73 hours into this game and i’ve grown really really attached to Ichiban and his band of misfits.

I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy the turn based combat as much, but I did enjoy the strategy aspect and the cooky skills and jobs. It keeps things fresh and the game is not as “grind-y” as other Yakuza installments (looking at you Ishin….)

Great game for veteran and new players!!

Very fun game overall. I think it’s one of the better installments in the franchise, though it’s not as good as Until Dawn. Would definitely recommend playing this with a friend on the first playthrough.

Clearly the most dated game in the franchise. I struggled a lot with the combat and side quest tracking. That being said, I did enjoy the story even though it’s super corny. Kiryu really deserved some downtime in Okinawa after everything he’s suffered through.

I never played the original, so I don’t have anything to compare it too. I’m not too big on DLC’s in general either but this was a pretty good one. Plus you can’t really go wrong with more Ada and Wesker.
