It's not the same game as the original, but it keeps the core fun gameplay.

Most of the time, the game doesn't utilize bottom screen use such as touching power-ups (I mean it's helpful but idk), but when it makes use of bottom screen for platforming, it adds depth to gameplay.

My sanity is gone after finishing this freaking game.

They could've done the same game, but they made a piece of garbage that truly depends on luck. What I really mean by luck is that, in some levels (randomly), invincible demon-like man and a katana man are rushing towards you and making your game shit.

Hail, Daughter of Hatred.
Creator of Sanctuary.
Our Blessed Mother.

Lilith.

The enemies of the Imperium will taste death this day!

Game uses same mini-boss scheme over and over and it makes the whole gameplay a loop. I mean it's not bad but I wouldn't prefer to buy in first place, game pass is really a life saver in like this situations.

Haytham Kenway is such a cool man, they could've developed his character more.

Who tf is this Mr. X guy and why is he chasing me like that?

Better than Mortal Kombat 11.

I'm not really fond of detective games (except books, Sherlock Holmes is cool) even I thought them as boring until this game. Story is intriguing, even though some points can be predicted. Gameplay is more dense than almost any Like a Dragon game, rgg did a great job. Ultimately, it's a solid spin-off which takes places in Like a Dragon series.
