Great spin on the RNG system of basically all tactical games. This game rewards consistency and creativity more than any other game based on luck.

It can be frustrating but clearing a mission will make you feel like a genius.

I love and hate this game, for what it was, back when I used to play on community servers, for what it will be, thanks to a predatory monetary system, for the experience, from the extremely deep movement strats to its special fanbase ... I've lived a big chunk of my life playing this game, at times religiously, at times every so often, but always willing to "get in a pub". It's a lifestyle, at a certain point.

I've met friends, I've made unforgettable memories and it will always be that comfort game where, if I ever lost the will to play videogames, will remind me what experiencing joy while gaming means.

Then to be killed from half the map away from a bot, that's another story for another time.

I have spent several thousand hours on this game. I like it very much. I hit the point where I'm playing mods because I've done a lot of runs in vanilla Medieval II. Sometimes I reinstall the game for the heck of it and play some more hundred hours.

Its replayability and kingdom management systems make this game much more than a glorified tactics game. Battles are fun, exploiting the AI makes you feel like an astute general but the greatness lies with its campaign. The expansion (what's a "dee elle see"?) would bring even better gameplay and new content for a timeless game.

Wonderful storytelling and music, sometimes it feels a little bit cheesy and the writing isn't perfect, but it's a feel-good story and a touching drama worth getting into.

Despite being a tad unbalanced, this is one of the most fun and deep games I've ever played. The characters are very well built and feel genuine, so does their struggle. Ivalice becomes thus a perfect example of worldbuilding and ... oh man I'm so in love with this game.

Fantastic game, reminds me of the old days of Desperados. Fun, the atmosphere is stratospheric and the game is genuinely hard at times but never punishing. There are way more ways to finish a map than it looks at first.

Stellar job system, it loses a lot of charm of its PS1 counterpart but it's got its own fantastical and whimsical appeal which isn't as bad as some people make it look like.

Great start for a series, I really enjoyed the dialogue and the twist around Agatha Christie-like shenanigans. I just wish the first part was half shorter.

I think this is it. The PSP swan song. The absolute pinnacle of storytelling through gameplay. The infinite replayability is only a spectacle of the entire show, for this game is absolutely full of little things to do and stories to experience. Mind you, there are some issues with balance (some classes are much MUCH better than others), the RNG-fest that is Crafting and the amount of micromanaging in options and skills can be overwhelming, but I absolutely adore this game.

Absolutely the best experience you could have with a somewhat realistic combat and arcade-y mechanics, to think that this is the best WW2 shooter is probably an understatement. Those little experiences are what makes this game alive and full of soul and memories.

Short and sweet self-contained story, very interesting concept and ideas. It goes beyond the typical RPG-maker horror story and creates rather than a world a blank canvas for the next games.

Very short side scroller. I vividly remember growing frustrated with it up until it was over, yet if you asked me about its story and characters - I can't remember a single thing. Another drop in the bucket.

Insane locations and quite endearing cast makes for a true crime game with serious choices and interesting dynamics. The game is fun to play and it really bothers me how Square litterally dropped the game the moment it wasn't profitable. Being somewhat unfinished makes me think how much more content and better it would've been.

Definitive compared to the original has DLC missions (debatably okay) and side-story (ranging from love letters to old movies and fun little parodies). Either version plays the same.

Being a simple game doesn't mean it's easy, at all. Once you learn how to effectively play it becomes exhilarating, but you either play once and never pick it again, or you play it bit by bit for a long time, it's that kind of game. Music bops hard.

I really enjoyed playing this game but it shouldn't feel like a second job. Characters and lore are fun and enjoyable but when you get to the meat of it, it starts falling off hard.
