Fun but frustrating. Bosses are very hard and you can't skip the dialogue.

The 2bit style is pretty and well made but it's sometimes hard to tell scenery from enemies.
Cat mechanics are clever.

It's fairly short, which is a plus, I got about halfway through but the Boss encounters are not fun for me. I cheesed the 2nd boss and gave up against the 3rd.

Metroidvania fans will probably enjoy this more.

This was a great fucking game. I love what they did by taking the gameplay of Postal 2 and building off something entirely new with it. The sheer amount of creativity and fun in this game is great and the way levels come together is wonderful. I love the creativity with the jokes and references. Usually when most things do current day stuff it fucking sucks cuz they either don't understand the memes, it reads like a twitter rant or it's just not funny since they think simply mentioning the thing equals funny...or it's just plain unfunny. Postal actually makes it fucking funny and understands what the fuck it's talking about and that alone is great. Without going into spoilers, killing Ronnie was pretty fun, that's all I'll say. I love how creative they got with all the weapons by the way and I love the crunchy ass style. The Shotgun hookshot segments (easily my most used gun, in majority of FPSes really) reminded me of BioShock Infinite lol...how come more FPSes don't do things like this? Or maybe I don't play enough creative FPSes I dunno...say FPSes three times fast.

When this game first came out I didn't think much of it, I saw a few screenshots and I was like...oh no...is it just Apocalypse Weekend in HD? Like Postal 4 seems to be just 2 in HD (I haven't played 4 yet but I didn't hear great things about it, I intend to play and judge it for myself eventually but for now, yeah). But hooo boy was I wrong. This game is great and I had quite a blast (hehe)

Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Postal and FPSes...might kick the ass of those not as skilled with these though.

I played and beat on Easy that being said (tho I attempted Normal in very early game), yet the game still felt challenging yet fair. It doesn't hold my hand and if I fuck something up it feels like my fault. I love what they did with the pissing too.

It's insane how badly everyone in this game wants to blatantly fuck Cloud.

I think this is a really good game with a handful of setbacks that stop it from being amazing. I've never played the original so I don't have any horses in the 'og accuracy' race, but I can see why this world and its characters are so iconic. I love the story and world and fell in love with the whole cast. I don't know how controversial the 'changing fate' idea is but I think that's a really cool idea for a remake, even if it does ostracize some players like myself who were probably looking for a more 1:1 remake.

That being said, not all story beats are made equal. I think some chapters are really compelling and fun experiences that make this a near-perfect experience. Unfortunately, almost as many chapters are padded-out slog-fests with nothing interesting going on in order to help support the 'split the OG game into a trilogy' idea. It's very easy to tell which chapters are directly remade from the original and which are new filler chapters because the former is so much better than the latter. If there was less padding bullshit in the filler chapters, this probably would've been a 9/10 experience, tbh. I don't think all of these filler chapters are bad, some do a lot to add to the world and flesh out the characters, but some chapters are strictly there to stretch out game time and do nothing to hide that fact (robot arm section, all of chapters 10 & 11, etc.).

I love the gameplay here; it's one of the main saving graces, and I can't wait to see how it's expanded upon in Rebirth. As much as I appreciate party management, I love this game's approach to determining a set party per chapter. It saved the trouble of having to constantly swap members to suit the situation, and it forced me to familiarize myself with character archetypes that I wouldn't usually play. Barrett and Aerith were my least favourite members, but one of the bosses forces you to ONLY play as them, and it really made me appreciate them more when forcing me to adapt to their playstyles; really cool idea.

Overall, a really good game that's gotten me invested.

I gotta give Running with Scissors mad props. They are some evil, evil geniuses. This is the perfect, sarcastic middle-finger response to the backlash they received for the first Postal. All that violence media outlets and parents alike got so worked up over? Entirely optional here. The devs do give you the tools to be a mass slaughtering, public urinating menace to society, but in no way force you to use them. Meaning you can go through each of the 5 days' to-do lists of ordinary life tasks completely law-abidingly. That's brilliant, because it essentially turns anybody taking this seriously enough to get offended into the big underlying joke. You can't legitimately blame the game for whatever twisted actions you catch someone performing onscreen in this case, since the amount of freedom and lack direction given in regards to how the mundane goals can be tackled make it totally the product of their own sick little minds.

What's allowed this satire of GWB era America to stand the test of time as a sort of pseudo-classic that people still play, replay, thoroughly enjoy, and talk about nearly 21 years later as of this writing isn't its ability to appeal to immature teenagers while simultaneously causing their authority figures to look pretty foolish for complaining about it, however. It's the absolute playground for childish mischief it provides. The vulgar/heinous acts you can commit and politically incorrect world they take place in are presented in a cartoonish, clearly tongue-in-cheek manner akin to something like South Park. What feelings of repulsion one could have in regards to the havoc they create is offset by the knowledge that every NPC around you is just as big of a sociopathic maniac. A fact that only becomes more evident as the scenarios you find yourself in steadily grow increasingly outlandish, absurd, deranged, and unhinged as the in-game week goes on.

Not to mention, its approach to the open-world setting may be dated by modern standards, yet there's a retro charm to that simplicity and barrenness which solely serves to pull you in further. I noticed myself exploring the map, not because I had to find X number of doodads to turn into some umpteenth quest-giver or was chasing down another icon/marker, but rather due to genuine curiosity and pure enjoyment in doing so. I had a blast ignoring my main objectives and getting lost for hours in the various locations along the way, always being rewarded in the form of stuff such as amusingly silly visual gags, ridiculous Easter egg secrets, or new weapons that are hidden in every corner in very 'Murican fashion.

The best part is that they're basically giving this away these days. I picked up a Steam key from RWS’s own website for $2, and that version comes with a variety of expansions and quality of life improving mods already pre-installed that you can toggle on or off at your discretion. As a result, I can't help but recommend this, even if just to say you have had the Postal 2 experience for yourself. You really should too. Though the entertainment it offers is undeniably juvenile and highly inappropriate, the weird trash masterpiece status and strong cult following this has managed to achieve regardless (and continues to seemingly somehow grow) elevates it to being worthy of trying despite its fairly tasteless nature. Who knows? You may end up discovering a not-so-guilty pleasure in the process like I did.

9/10

Didn't even know this was an expansion, always thought it was part of the main game.

I don't like it as much. It takes away a little of what makes the base game so unique, and turns into a more "basic" shooter. One of the best parts of Postal 2 is that you don't have to kill anyone, and this just removes that aspect completely.

The whole Al Qaeda and military base levels are way too long, and they're just kinda boring. I also don't really like how they force you to kill animals, at least you can befriend the dogs. Both the cow and elephant levels used to stress me the fuck out when I was younger

Best part of it is the level design, even though it is very linear. Overall i still think it's mostly fun, at least on higher difficulties, and it works well as a finale to the game.

It's clunky and old. It's pointlessly provocative. It's comically edgy. It's incredibly tedious. It's programmed like dogass. It's one of the most fun and memorable PC games ever made.

I'm gonna get shit for this, but I just do not care for this game. I just do not think it had aged well. Should be noted I have no nostalgia for this game.
