Actually sick as hell and it runs as well as it possibly could. Load times are a little old fashioned but nothing out of the ordinary. Comparable to other major Switch titles like Breath of the Wild or ports like Wolfenstein 2, but there's hardly any stutter.
The graphics are honestly great so long as you're just playing the game and you're not stopping to count the vertices of a barrel. You're supposed to run and jump around and shoot stuff and if you're doing that you're gonna find yourself wondering how it looks so good. HD rumble and a pair of headphones really sell the experience too.
The gameplay is TIGHT, you can really get into it. Finding the zenith between the difficulty level, the motion controls and your layout is unmatched. This has to be what it felt like to play the original because there's nothing else like this as far as I know.
Of course I haven't played Eternal yet, so...

This was my first Kingdom Hearts game, years and years ago when they first announced the third one, which turned me onto the series in the first place. The Pixar characters were enough to get my attention, and the only modern console I had was the 3DS, so it all seemed pretty natural to pick it up. I couldn't have known 😅
The problems with this game's story are ones that the whole series suffers from, just too much required reading to have any inkling as to what's going on.
Fortunately, YEARS and YEARS later after on-and-off exposure to the story, with practice playing other games, seeing the tie-in movies and all that jazz, it's a rewarding enough experience.
I really like the dream guys, I like that it's a little less consequential, I like Sora's outfit, I like the story, and I love the gameplay, but it's very very very hard. I think I'm pretty good at video games but this one can get grindy and the bosses are completely nuts, often in unfair ways.
Regardless, yeah, I think I'd recommend dream drop distance, but specifically to people who have played other games in the series, and do yourselves a favour and play the remastered version on something other than a 3DS.
