i've been hating on this game for so long but finally played it and yes the writing is bad the anime tropes are cringe but as a game it's unfortunately as good as everyone says
gameplay wise nearly perfect i just wish the bar for the story was a BIT higher
this was gonna be 3 1/2 stars, presentation and score is beautiful and flawless and i COULD get used to the clunky combat system and bad team ai but wow i just tried to save my game and it gave me an error, losing my progress of about 1 hour of story and grinding x)

was really looking forward to this and the graphics & ooblets are really good and cute but I agree with most other reviews bc I also couldn't rly get hooked on it :T
it does lack a bit of sincerety and agency in some of the writing and story and collecting the ooblets feels more gimmicky than exiting

played this in one sitting and i just love these little dude sm !!!! the writing is fun!! movement is very satisfying!! the characters are SO cute!! the lil gator does a crocco swim when he's in water literally what more do u want

i think we as pokemon fans have been snubbed for too long bc yes the gameplay is great but like the lack of detail and terrible performance?? also y‘all are praising the writing and characters to the heavens but rly they are just barely a bit more fleshed out and interesting than usual from this 25+ yrs old formula 😭
there‘s so many parts where you can feel there‘s sth missing and i‘m sure the devs INTENDED to put sth there but were probably too rushed to finish it. hoping the dlc will give them a chance to implement some of it.

easily one of the games ever in the vamp genre
played this for 40hrs now bc i love the artstyle and world and once you get over the half hour tutorial it is quite addicting. recommend if ur looking for a cute relaxing alternative farm sim to stardew valley with harvest moon/story of seasons mechanics bc the art direction of the current main sos games looks like mobile game garbage in comparison :/
