Ranking Every Game I've Played in 2023

Nothing here!

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition
Wild how DMC5 is my Game of the Decade twice in a row.

1

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Into Reverie
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Into Reverie
We're so fucking back.

2

We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie
We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie
It's a solid remake of a game I love, of course this would be near the top of the list.

3

Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Odyssey
It's a fun little game that just feels so good to run around in.

4

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
As someone whose knowledge of TMNT doesn't extend past the 2003 series and seeing ridiculously well-animated clips of Rise of the TMNT, I thought it was a pretty great beat em up.

5

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Sakuna could damn near reach all timer status if there wasn't such an egregious amount of mandated grinding via the farming. I vibe with just about everything else about the game, but goddamn do I hate the farming.

6

Judgment
Judgment
Judgment is a very solid title, but man it feels very bloated on a gameplay front. I genuinely do think Lost Judgment is leagues better in most every way. Also power gap after this.

7

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake
It lacks polish even at the best of times, and I could do without the excessive pandering to the classic era of Spongebob, but this is a perfectly fine platformer.

8

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
Quite frankly, I think it's criminal that MoM is essentially a full-priced recap game. Doesn't help that the gameplay is mid as all hell.

9

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Yep, this is post-2016 Ratchet, alright.

10

Star Ocean: First Departure R
Star Ocean: First Departure R
This is absurdly mid for a game I hear people hype up a lot.

11

Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI
I've never been more torn on a game in my life. It's like if someone kicked you in the balls with metal cleats then handed you an ice cream cone after.

12

Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
I've never played a JRPG with such an overreliance on grinding more than Yakuza 7, holy shit man. This game sucks.

13

Like a Dragon: Ishin!
Like a Dragon: Ishin!
This is far and away the worst Yakuza game I played. A mediocre story paired with the worst feeling combat and worst enemy design in the series. The only benefit is being much shorter than the other ones.

14

Tales of Arise
Tales of Arise
Genuinely disgraceful video game. Fucked up how I played two action RPGs in a row, and both tackle slavery in an insidious and heinous way. There's almost nothing good to say about this abhorrent waste of time.

15

Vampire Survivors
Vampire Survivors
What is the fucking point?

16

Jump Force
Jump Force
Dissidia Final Fantasy without the sauce.
