my saddest life goal is to play every tetris game ever made but i feel like this one alone is able to account for about 80% of them

cool as hell i wish there were more songs in it right from the start because i cannot be arsed to add them in myself

Content Warning has a very decent hook with a pretty decent execution, but after 3 hours it already begins to feel like an empty experience. Don't get me wrong, with a good group this game can be absolutely hilarious while sometimes giving you a good spook or two. However this game lives or dies based on the group you are playing with. If you've got a group drab lads who are just not that funny then this game will be an absolute bore for you. The game gives you the tools to make the entertainment, however it on its own is a big bowl of not much.

For a free game, at least at the time I got it, I cannot complain too much. If you have a good group of funny people it may even be worth the $8 entrance fee. As I play more I really hope it grows on me, but we'll definitely have to see.

truly captures the essence of being a fish

a fun game overall, usually has a nice momentum to it if you're playing well and the simple stuff like breaking boxes and collecting wumpa fruit is very satisfying, the game looks really nice as well

the problem for me is that any% is a bit too easy and boring imo but 100%, while more interesting overall and sometimes a very satisfying challenge, can other times be exhausting due to kinda slippery controls and some very long levels with a lot of start-and-stop moments

the 100% ending is also a bit of an anti-climax but luckily i was kinda checked out by then anyway, still a good start to an epic series though

After 107 hours I have not only concluded my first completion of a version of Persona 3, but I have discovered that it is my favourite game in the series and quite possibly beat out Persona 5 Royal as my new all-time favourite game. Never have I had more fun dungeon-crawling in a game; I absolutely did not like Mementos in P5R however I had tremendous fun in Tartarus. I enjoyed dungeon-crawling so much that I even maxed out Makoto's level, something I have never done in any JRPG before.

I went into the game with very little expectations. I mean I already knew I loved Persona and I'd heard great things about the OG Persona 3 and it's subsequent rereleases and versions over the years, but I was completely unaware of the journey I was about to go on. I did my usual of naming my MC Pip Dickens and was immediately floored as the game caught my attention in the first moments. It wasted no time getting into the meat of things and I was hooked.

But what had me staying so long in this virtual world? On average it takes maybe 60-65 hours to complete this game, but I took 107 hours with maybe 2 deaths and I didn't even 100% the game (although I was very close). Well, as stated, I maxed out my MC Pip's level so I gladly grinded out in Tartarus. The gameplay is Persona perfection and the combat is truly refined at this point. The mix of having baton passing (called shifting in this game), 1 Mores, and Theurgy made the combat very engaging and incredibly fun to do.

My main love, though...the part of the game that had it's hold on my heart was the story and characters. By the end of the game I was crying...multiple times even. On the final day when you could talk with or hear about every single character you maxed out a social link with I cried during many said moments. The bonds you are able to build with these characters is unmatched in any Persona game I've played; really any game I've ever played. The emotion at the core of this story is touching, moving, and heart wrenching. I don't want to spoil anything as this game is best played blind but believe me when I say that I believe this is one of the best stories I've had the pleasure of playing in a game.

Towards the end of the year I will be playing this game again along with The Answer DLC, and I'm excited to lay out my thoughts on the whole package. This is a 10/10 game, no question at all. Please, please, please give it try.

the movement really is good. when i learned how to do that really big backflip after doing a slide jump? damn, that truly opened up a lot of opportunities to cheese my way into rooms i was not prepared to be in

on the flipside the combat just kind of exists. with only.. what, 6 different enemy types in the game you really only need the basic attack to deal with them, and yet there's a bunch of other moves you can carry out which are cool but pretty much pointless. Sure, the fact you can kick the sword in mid-air after you've thrown it is awesome but there's no point where i would ever bother to do that. then again, what was the point in having the ability to throw the sword anyway? maybe there was something i missed? i just pressed the button on accident every so often and lost it

I'm glad I've been able to play the game with the map but it is about as basic an implemention you can get other than just showing a jpeg. I was desperate for some sort of icon to show where i am on the map as opposed to just highlighting the room i'm in. i spent way too long cross-referencing the angles of walls to get my bearings. also some of the maps were too big for the screen and got cut off which is just kinda funny

however with the character design alone i retract all my grievances immediately 10/10 game thanks bye bye

Man, the turntable is so fucking cool and fun to play with, for some reason I can wrap my head around it a lot easier than the plastic guitar and its just more fun to use. The feeling of scratching and throwing the record back to rewind is insanely fun, and the way the game has you isolate different parts of the track sounds so cool. This game's soundtrack is almost all mashups and almost all of them work incredibly, I still listen to them regularly. With all that and being able to unlock and play as Daft Punk, of course this game would earn a place in my heart.

bitches be like "this is what takes nintendo and those soulless corporations down" when this game was made with the same soulless sentiment

What is there to say about Yakuza 0 that hasn't already been said? This truly was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The story is absolutely gripping, the gameplay is varied and so much fun, and there's enough fun/rewarding side content for you to get lost for hours. The game balances it's goofy side with it's serious, yakuza story wonderfully. This game is on a tightrope and it is amazing that they kept themselves from falling for the entire duration of the game.

The combat is very fun, even if it can become repetitive. However there is enough combos and varies moves you can learn for each fighting style that you can make the game as simple or as complicated as you want. I played on Normal difficulty and the game was never too hard. As long as you keep yourself well-prepared at all times then you will never have an issue.

If you are ever just sitting around wondering what you should play, make it Yakuza 0.

About as hit and miss as it gets. I appreciated the message and elements of the execution of this quite a bit, but it gets weighed down heavily by some pretty poor writing. The constant “fake deep” dialogue, mainly from the main character, made my eyes roll most of the time.

Really wasn’t a fan of the gameplay at all either. It takes a lot of inspiration from P.T. (definitely threw a few references to it throughout the game) with its walking sim horror gameplay, except they decided to throw in a bunch of shitty chase sequences, which became kinda frustrating by the end. This two hour demo has about 6 chase sequences with basically the same environment and monster that chases you.

Graphically, the games environments are absolutely stunning, almost photorealistic at times. The art direction really makes for some memorable shots as well. A lot of care was obviously put into that aspect.

I was getting hopeful that the game was going to switch it up and move towards the more occult-based story that the first and third games focused on. You begin finding articles referencing witches and curses, however, it doesn’t amount to anything other than making the protagonist question the suicides that the game is centered around. Ultimately, that aspect doesn’t get explored at all.

Overall, a little bit of a disappointment. Apparently Konami themselves developed this, which makes me a bit concerned that this is the direction they are hoping to take the franchise. I still have some hope for Townfall and f though, as they have some strong names behind them, so I’m praying that they don’t take the surface level approach to psychological horror that this game/demo did.
