wonderful conclusion to what FC set up, the first half can be a bit slow but it really sticks the landing. super fun, great story, great cast, great game.

very cozy game, even if the story lacks stakes until the end the setting is so charming and estelle and joshua are a perfect main duo. i really like this one.

its fun, i like the quartz system in this one a lot, battles are fun and dungeons are good. good continuation of zero, the plot has some minor hiccups and im not a fan of the cliffhanger ending but its overall an entertaining story.

sets up crossbell really well, i like the smaller, close knit cast, befitting the smaller scale of the setting. lloyd goes uhhhhhh DAH and gets a stat buff and i clap.

solid epilogue for trails in the sky and prologue for what's to come. very clearly reusing assets to fill out another game and the story isnt very intuitive at hiding that, but i still like it. the little vignettes do a lot to flesh out the characters and world but thats all it really has to offer.

the only cold steel that isnt bad. fun combat, has an actual plot unlike CS1. it has padding issues but they arent egregiously bad. my biggest issue with this one is that it drags an extra few hours after it shouldve ended. lloyd section is pointless fanservice and the epilogue is so unnecessarily long.

like sky the 3rd but not as good. of the 3 routes only C route was good and thats because its treading new ground for the series, something that lloyd and especially rean's routes dont do. oh no crossbell is occupied... oh no rean has to fight himself but evil... so many recycled plot points. i was told this game fixes cold steel's writing but it most certainly does not. even the main villain is recycled from cold steel. stupid. reverie corridor is fun and they actually made CS3/4 combat good so it gets bumped up a bit.

sky FC and zero worked as slow burns to set up their respective settings because A. the settings were interesting and B. the characters were good. cold steel has neither of those. featuring someone's self insert harem protagonist as the main character, experience what illiterate nerds think is good writing as the plot forces itself to happen sometimes when it wants to. pretty fun combat though but im not a fan of the quartz system.

this game blows but its slightly better than cs3 because it actually has a story that is sometimes worth telling. does that fix the horrible padding and awful main conflict and bloated cast? no. MCU ass game.

one of the only games ive ever played that i can confidently call a waste of time. cold steel's story could have concluded in 3 games but they instead opted to repeat CS1 again. enjoy taking a bunch of field trips with mr bozo schwarzer and his fuckass students. ouroboros is causing trouble! remember when they were a threat? does anything that happens in this game before the last hour actually matter to the events of CS4? no. 60+ hours of nothing of substance while rean repeats the same dogshit character arc hes gone through 5 times and will go through 5 more times in subsequent games. piece of shit game. haha...
