No subtlety. No substance. Where is the Silent Hill I grew up with? Two stars because some of the logs were unintentionally funny to read.

For everything about this game that I loved there was something that I hated. Most importantly would have loved if it either went more towards the full FFXII route or the more FFXIII route with world design and not some weird hybrid. Also I love the darker setting, but I could have done with less cringey swearing everywhere for grittiness. SoP got a pass for being camp. This does not.

Ultimately, I am like 75% through a second playthrough that I pick up and play every so often as of writing this; so I will have the plat soon enough. That's something of note because I rarely go for plats outside of like 25 cent psn sale games. That said the reason for replaying is the Monster Hunter style side quests and not the story.

I wanted this game to be good. It feels like it almost could have been. You can tell they mismanaged every part of this game's production. If they had actually focused on one part of the game instead of building what feels like four or five games in one maybe it would have been something.

The original Back to Nature is by all means one of the greatest games I have ever played. I love that game dearly. This is a decent attempt at recreating that feeling but it feels lacking. There's a charm that is lost with a lot of the modern touch ups. Harvest Moon always felt at it's best with the clunk. Something about fighting the system to grow your farm added to the experience. The important atmosphere is still there. The characters still breathe the same air of quality. It's just not quite the same.

As a kid this was always my least favorite Harvest Moon. Time certainly did not help this game one bit. Too slow, over too quickly, feels too clunky, map is too small, etc. You can tell this series had some serious growing pains with the jump to 3D. Especially when the games previous to this are some of the best every made.

Harvest Moon really is never going to be what it once was again. Enjoyable enough but way too much focus on what makes Stardew great and not what made HM64 or Mineral Town great. Love a lot of the small modern touches, but I would rather a clunky outdated mess that feels perfectly comfortable than a slick modern game lacking charisma.

Exactly what a remake should be. Looks amazing in the same way that the original looked amazing when it came out. Feels exactly how you want it to feel. A lot of the dated sections from the original have be reworked to modernize. Really is almost a perfect game.

I really enjoyed this iteration of Halo, but I also feel like it didn't necessarily bring anything new to the table. The grappling hook is a ton of fun, but I don't see the point of any of the other power ups. The open world was a cool touch, but did Halo really need to be open world?

In a way it reminded me of what it felt like playing the OG Halos on the original Xbox for the first time back in the day as a kid, but the OG Halos don't even come close to comparing to Halo 3 ODST in my mind. For a free game through Game Pass, I can't complain too heavily though. Worth the time invested for the play-through at the very least.

I'll update this later when I actually finish the game.

It's fun. It's SMT. It's not SMT 1 through 3, but it is at least on par with 4. I like it.

I hated Gen 4 when the games came out on DS and all my problems with those games are still here. It's basically the exact same game.

That said, I will say, this version does feel significantly faster as far as battles go. It just to feel like such a slog to get into and out of a battle. And the speed of maneuvering the map has greatly increased. However, the fps is literally unplayable at times. The cutscenes are terrible offenders in this regard. As much time as you now save and make ground with, you still end up losing in other ways around the game.

I don't mind the art style though. I think the chibi stuff looks fine. It feels like a Pokemon game should with this art. I couldn't care less in this regard. Nothing like getting off work and having a beer while you play some Pokemon.

I feel like this could have been a really fun game had it just been a bit more fleshed out and released on a real system. As is, the combat feels a bit too streamlined and the game reeks of mobage. I'll probably play a bit more of it in the future at some point as a time killer in an airport or something I am sure, but I don't really see this being much more than that.

I've been playing this every night before I fall asleep since the remake came out - so roughly 3 or so weeks now - and while I honestly love the game, I cannot say it's the greatest cute em up ever like many a Japanese retro gaming otaku have led me on to believe.

The patterns are fine but nothing spectacular, and the story and art are cute but nothing iconic. It needs to be mentioned this is a horizontal shooter - I know many people who refuse to play horizontals. I just don't see anything outstanding about this one.

I love what is here though so much so that I've been sinking about 30 minutes to an hour into the game on average every single night. I'll definitely need to add the original of this to the if I ever get rich list; but I think once I move on from this one, I'm not coming back anytime soon. If I wanted to replay a cute em up, I'd much rather revisit Fantazy Zone.

Felt a bit too short for $20 unless you are planning to play Hard Mode. I played this on the new Normal mode and really enjoyed the combat, and I can easily see the appeal for those who managed to sit through the remake's Hard Mode the first time.

That aside, if you are a hardcore FF7 fan or just really love Yuffie, she was my favorite character in the original, this is easily worth the value to get a real glimpse of what the PS5 has in store over the next 7 or so years. I'm definitely waiting to see what FF7R:Part 2 has to offer.

Everything 4 should have been with everything good that 7 brought to the table.

I've played through this a few times now, and I don't think I have any real complaints about the gameplay other than turning doesn't feel fast enough in some instances and some areas feel much to constricted in Village of Shadows (but fuck that difficulty altogether anyway). Easily the best Resident Evil in the past decade.

This game had Kanye West which is based, but it also made me pay for Kanye West DLC which is highly not based. Guess we have to split the vote.
