for a first playthrough, standard difficulty felt too easy, but proud mode felt too hard, and in the wrong ways - the ease with which you can get oneshot is just not fun, and makes it difficult to even understand what you did wrong, particularly when it's from something offscreen. i could see proud mode as a rewarding experience once you've learned the game and know what to expect, but man, i'm not putting up with the disney bullshit a second time lol. Not For Me
great collection with mostly good games. the unlockable themes you get from playing each of them are great, just wish you could use them on PS5.
tl;dr reviews of every game in it:
KH1: Solid game, 8/10. Some parts could've been better, but still very worth playing.
KH Re:CoM: some of the least fun I've ever had playing a game, 3/10. just watch a youtube cutscene compilation instead since the story and characters are the only good parts
KH2: Amazing game. The story is great, the cast is great, the gameplay is great, the new worlds are great, etc. 9/10.
358/2 Days: loses points just because ultimately it being a cutscene compilation means the game constantly has to throw in text saying "wow look at all this really cool and fun stuff the characters did" and you get less time with the characters as a result. Fantastic story though, I would die for any of the main 3. 7/10 (assuming gameplay is fun would be a 10/10 with gameplay)
Birth by Sleep: Great characters, strong story, neat worlds, but some mediocre gameplay and frustrating fights [granted i might have been underleveled]. 8/10.
Re:Coded: boring cutscene compilation that goes on for too long where only five minutes of the whole thing really matter as far as i can tell. still has some good moments though. 4/10.

Yeah I'm def not a kingdom hearts fan like I tried to play this cus I like SOME final fantasy games not a fan tho they asses be losers but back on topic I used to play the gameboy game when i was younger so like I thought this was a match made in heaven 😐 yeah safe to say I aint finna try these games anytime soon
Unlike my other Kingdom Hearts reviews I'm not going to make a title or anything like that. This is just an overall score for this collection.
A collection of 6 games, ranging from absolutely dreadful to near perfection... this collection is a very mixed bag.
My playthroughs of the first game and Re:Chain of Memories are among some of the worst I have ever experienced in my years of playing video games. Games that felt like they never ended, all while having crappy acting and dialogue to the point where I believed they legitimately broke me. My playthroughs of Kingdom Hearts II and Birth By Sleep were awesome times that felt very brisk and intense, never giving me a moment of boredom or anger. Watching the dynamics of 358/2 Days was genuinely entertaining while watching the schlock that is Re:Coded was monotonous and ultimately pointless.
This collection is highly flawed, and I only came out enjoying half of the experiences it offered, which is why I am giving it this rather middling score. While KH2, BBS, and the story of 358/2 Days are inherently good times for me, they don't exactly outweigh the, to quote Re:Coded here, "hurt" that KH, CoM and the story of Re:Coded brought upon me.
I definitely see myself coming back to KH2 and BBS in the future, but I doubt I will ever play KH1 or CoM ever again.
If you're looking for a dive into the Kingdom Hearts series, I can't fully recommend it. If you don't care about story, just play 2 and BBS, and if you do care about story you're better off playing a different franchise altogether. Either way, I hope you have a better experience with this collection as a whole than I did.

hey dog I heard you like compilations so I put 2 compilations in your compilation so you can play a compilation title while playing a compilation title. This is a bundle that includes exactly what is on the box, and not much else more. This is the most standard way to play the older kingdom hearts games these days, so if you want to then go for it. This is also included in the Kingdom hearts story so far, in case you need your compilation of compilations to be in a compilation.
I mean it's 1.5 and 2.5 again. No real new content (aside from some well-appreciated optimization on the technical side), but it doesn't really need anything.
As is this is a steal for anyone wanting to get into the series or even just replay some old favorites, I personally had a blast going through this collection in full in the months leading up to 3's release

These games still have a unique graphical style that holds up today.
Final mix is still a fun game, but compared to what games come later it doesn't age well, the combat feeling stiff early on, the gummi ship sections are in their infancy with how slow and boring they are. But later the game picks up more with the more spells you get, your expanded roster of abilites.
RE:CoM is boring. I've never enjoyed it and I don't think I can, sadly.
2 Final Mix is an overall improvement to the first game, from combat, to movement, to environments, and the gummi sections are a lot more visually interesting (though still pretty simple). It falls off with certain worlds not being the most entertaining and lot of the later content being revisits to worlds you've already finished.
Birth By Sleep is a bit of fun too, though the movement/combat is sluggish and restrictive - there is a QOL mod that allows for animation cancelling that makes things less constrictive. Aside from that, the game is still charming like the rest.

Well... that's almost perfect.
The problems are basically:
1 - Cutscenes that are not in 60 fps;
2 - The faces of the characters continue to change from an amazing 3d animation to a strange PNG animation;
3 - It doesn't have the DS games.
Besides those things, it's the best way to experience any Kingdom Hearts game.
I love it!
