This is pretty solid. Probably a whole lot of nothing compared to the arcade original, but it strikes me as a scenario similar to Final Fight's SNES port: not the optimal way to play, but totally fine as well. Only problem here is I think sometimes it's a little ugly, especially in comparison to the arcade version. Maybe I'll give that a go soon, because this was a fun ass time.
Also gets a small bonus for having an actually competent Kingpin final boss battle that was previously failed to be delivered in Spider-Man vs the Kingpin. Fuck that game.

Nick Fury: Frank we shouldn't kill anyone! Keep the body count low!
Nick Fury five minutes later: Shoots an entire warehouse full of grunts, slices random women to death with glorious Nippon steel folded in half 1000 times, collapses a hotel with hundreds of guests to kill one criminal

The Punisher is another Genesis exclusive arcade port of one of the greatest beat 'em up of the 90s. While the game suffers in comparison to its enemy-denser arcade counterpart, the game remained hard to beat with a 2-player option still intact to help your odds. Unlike most beat 'em up on the Genesis lasting about thirty to forty minutes, The Punisher took us one hour fifty to beat, there is no save system so definitely save yourself an free evening for this one. The game doesn't get repetitive either, with its many weapon pickups including a satisfying handgun, as well as the variety of enemies and bosses. The game features all the enemies and content from the original arcade games, with up to six enemies appearing on-screen at once. The Punisher would certainly make Super Nintendo fans salivate with their broken Final Fight ports.
As far as Beat-Em Ups go, I don't think you could go wrong with The Punisher
The spritework is amazing, and out of all the marvel properties to adapt into a beat em up, The Punisher works incredibly well. The gun sections are also a nice change of pace, and are just different enough from the usual punching gameplay to spice up the gameplay every now and then.

The Punisher is another of Capcom's many 2d beat 'em ups, and doesn't stray too far from the formula. Excellent spritework and music, and extremely challenging gameplay, often bordering on the "pretty bullshit, actually" side of things. Not much to report on that side of things, it's enjoyable with unlimited quarters and probably kind of frustrating without, unless you're a god.
Where The Punisher does get really fucking funny, though, is in trying to fit the source material in this mold that really does not fit it. It's trying to give the impression of a gritty crime story with early 90s comics edge, but you still eat pizzas and meat off the ground to heal, and even in cutscenes Frank can leap like 20 meters straight up and punch through brick walls. He also has a gun, obviously, but he's honorable enough to only use it when up against other similarly armed enemies, which means he'll be pulling it out mid-boss battle to deal with the summons, and then politely holster it again so he can resume getting his face stomped in by some massive robot. Unless he finds a gun on the ground, which he can use whenever. Well, most guns, some just give you points, of course. He has a cool super move that drains his health, but also another super move that's him just chucking a grenade and diving for cover.
This is the game equivalent of movies like Conan the Barbarian (1982) that get so high off their own testosterone that they stop making sense, and it is glorious. Look at this fucking guy.

The Punisher (1993)
Plataforma: Arcade
Desenvolvedora: Capcom
Um excelente Beat And UP !!
Nota: 9/10
