This is basically the NES equivalent of Wii Chess.
It promises the main function of the game, it works, but... that's just it.... it's just Pinball. And it's just one Pinball machine.
Even the 1 Player B Mode is just the same machine but faster.
It's ok, but nothing can beat the chad 3D Pinball Space Cadet.
Though to be fair, it can be addicting to mess around and waste minutes with it.

Arguably the first great pinball game on consoles, even though I like Video Pinball as well. While this game is mostly known now for its cameo appearances of Mario and Pauline, it really is an excellent representation of pinball. It features two different sections to make one giant table, giving the game some nice variety. There's lots of charming characters on display, including penguins, seals, and chicks who hatch out of eggs. There's also quite a few objectives to fulfill to get more points, such as collecting a row of Pac-Man like dots, a set of five cards, and even a little slot machine where you have to hit a paddle to stop it. The sound effects can be a little grating at times, but serve their purpose well. And the game has a nice little jingle on the title screen, like a lot of early NES games do. While not the most perfect pinball game ever, Nintendo's own Pinball is still a great way to get your pinball fix at home.
Well, the ball physics are decent (it was developed by HAL, it's one of their specialties)... but with just one rather mundane table and no music, this is an ultimately very shallow experience. The Mario and Pauline bonus stage isn't remotely enough to salvage this. Play any other pinball game instead. Unless, of course, you're just going down random NSO offerings the way I was. In which case, you can play this for 10 minutes and be underwhelmed, too.
I know this is just primitive NES pinball, but I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit. Pinball has that old-school Nintendo charm, adding on little things on top of traditional pinball like poker cards and a secret area that acts as a brick-breaker game.
Very much the classy, toy-making philosophies in game design. Wish Nintendo would make more pinball games.

I won’t exactly warn you against trying it, but it’s not worth buying, and it’s not worth going out of your way for.
