this game scratched an itch that hasn't been scratched since 2001. As far as I'm concerned, this is Wario Land 6. Tight platforming, insane speed, fun mechanics, perfect artstyle, good ass boss battles. you really can't ask for more from this game.
it's a little on the short side, it took around 6.5 hours to complete at a $20 price point, but this game is meant to be replayed and perfected. good shit

I like everything about this game but the boss battles, more specifically how they're handled. I think one phase is fine given the spread each boss already has, but a second phase isn't something I'd apply by default to someone looking for a casual playthrough. That being said, the game's good. I don't have any other problems with it. Everything else feels like a fair challenge.
Not any ordinary pizza. its Peppino Pizza!
Pizza Tower 2D platformer That you play as Peppino trying to save his restaurant from an evil pizza for a face that wants to destroy it. The game is a spiritual successor to classic the Wario land games that you collect items threw the level and run back to beginning withing a time limit.
Peppino Is the combination of Sonic and Wario and becomes a speed demon destroying anything in his way. You'll be running through all levels with special gimmicks that appear in the levels. you'll be running and next you'll be wearing armor to get threw obstacles or riding a giant sausage or even playing golf.
The game also ranks how well you do in levels. If you want an S rank, you'll need to collect pizza toppings, find 3 secret rooms in the level and find the key man to unlock the treasure room. You'll also need to build up a combo so you can get even more points and go through the level again.
The animation in the game is great. Peppino reactions to hitting a wall or screaming his head off in a cartoony scream is hilarious. The music is very catchy, the music plays when running back to exit the level never gets old. Pizza Tower is wacky time and worth the full price. Just be careful if you want to get the Perfect ranks.

fast paced action gameplay with great music and chaotic art, definitely up there with my favorite games of the year. i know it's heavily inspired by wario land but i've never actually played a wario game so idk.
i haven't fully completed this game, but i have beaten the main game. the only actually slightly difficult part of beating the game is the bosses, almost all the levels i beat first try. there is a scoring system and i know there are achievements for getting p ranks, so i'm sure ill be going back to those. i like the idea of a run through of each level before getting to the end, triggering the rock dude and racing back through to beat the timer, especially when new paths and routes open up. i don't have much else to say about this one as i haven't played it that much but i'll definitely go back to it at some point

this game was such a great surprise. Stupidly fun and genuinely hilarious, every level had a fun gimmick too it. I've never had a game make me laugh as much as this one did.
Also the presentation is very unique, taking on a ms-paint like artstyle with inspiration ranging from Looney Tunes, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, The Simpsons and Squidbillies.
8/10 and GOTY 2023

GOD what a banger. I knew of this due to memes and shit but had no clue it was coming out until like 2 weeks before hand. I got it basically day one and HOT DAMN this game is good. You could say it controls like ass and is ugly but I think the slipperiness and MS Paint style are all apart of the charm. It's also just the right length. 10 minute stages are risky business but there's just enough to where it doesn't feel dragged out. I will say though, I hate that the little guys were mandatory. Not even just mandatory but like 90/95 mandatory. Way, way too much. But everything else, the music, humor, gameplay, etc. is just perfect. A god tier game.
I have not played a Wario Land game, but decided to check this out anyway. I’m Not gonna lie, some moments of this game really pissed me off. Some stages I didn’t like, the ghost level and war were standouts. You need to collect everything in one perfect run to 100% the level and it’s really annoying in a time where platformers keep on doing this. The Bosses were really bad and dragged on for too long, and this game does some of the worst things in Video Games, a boss rush in the same stage as the final boss which is self explanatory. I still really enjoy this game. The music was somewhat good, the visuals are pretty except for the few close ups of Peppino, and the game controls are really good, but I hope the Wario Land games are better.
Excellent speedy platformer that does more than retread the Wario Land design that inspired it. The biggest issue is that there isn't more of it unless you're combing for those P-Ranks, but with the amount of content on the cutting room floor to get this game in a finished state, I can easily see an update or sequel doing just that.
This game also might have the best boss rush of all time.
