Beautiful game . The characters are relatable, world building is realistic. The ost and story are works of art . The battle system is unique and easy to use but hard to master

El final de una saga que prometía ir más allá con esta entrega, lo bueno es que se pudo cerrar correctamente con sus altos y sus bajos

Fixed the rough start of the other 2, GODLIKE PVP

It's literally peak, what the fuck else is there to say

Star Force 3 introduced a prominent use of the DS' touchscreen, and is likely their most user-friendly effort (both in-combat and out), but otherwise didn't change much in a format that leaves very little room for innovation.

Asombroso, glorioso, magnífico, emotivo. Definitivamente una carta de amor a la industria del videojuego

One of my favorite DS games, and certainly my favorite of the Battle Network/Star Force subseries of Mega Man. Numerous improvements are made in Star Force 3 over the previous two games, both in gameplay and in the storytelling department.
In terms of the gameplay, SF3 does away with the touch screen gimmicks of the last two games, moving the action to the top screen entirely instead of just during combat. This is a very welcome change, as the gimmicks of the last two games got old very fast, and could be very frustrating at times. Combat is basically the same as the previous two games - moving on a 1x3 grid, dodging attacks, locking on and countering; all of these are just as fast and fluid as the other games in the series. SF3 differs in three key areas: the game's resident form changes, the Noise system, and the new card selection mechanics.
In terms of card selection, the same rules apply as in Star Force 2, with one major difference: cards can now be layered on top of one another. When a card is in the back layer, you can either use it original function (at the expense of ONLY using that card this turn), or use its support ability, which depends on its element. This leads to additional strategies, planning out cards per turn to uncover a back row card, or using the support ability to add an effect or manipulate the field. Super and Giga cards are also larger than standard cards, meaning you'll have to factor that into strategies as well. This feature can be divisive, but I personally love the addition.
The Noise system is another unique mechanic to SF3. When you battle, some cards will cause you to gain Noise, represented by a percentage in the top right corner. Noise can be raised by using certain cards, countering attacks, etc. When Noise levels get higher different random effects can happen (starting around 50%): your HP can start to slowly drain, invincibility frames can be ignored, pushing effects can pull enemies closer instead, and so on. Finishing a battle while Noise is in the red (100% and above) will cause your reward to be corrupted - this can give high money payouts, or give you a random card, which can be from any point in the game, including the previous games' cards. This can also grant "illegal" cards - super powerful versions of normal cards that can do insane damage. If you can get Noise incredibly high, you may even receive multiple rewards from a fight instead of just one.
The final new aspect of the battle system is the form changes. You gain a random Noise Form (based on bosses from this game, Star Force 1, and Rogue from 2) during the story (which ones are more common depends on your version), and can change forms after fighting giant viruses. Once you reach 50% Noise, your Noise Form's specific abilities come into play, whether it's boosting certain elements for your battle cards, or changing your charge shot's effect. If you're lucky in today's day and age to find someone else with the game and become Brothers with them, you can also combine their Noise Form with yours to "Multi-Noise." The final aspect of Noise Forms is called "Finalization;" when your Noise reaches 200% or above, you can access the "Meteor Server," transforming you into the version's specific form (Black Ace or Red Joker) and giving you access to powerful cards (how powerful depends on your Noise level when transformed, getting better every 100% after 200%). Your Finalized form is incredibly powerful, can use the super attacks of all the other forms, and has its own Star Force Big Bang that deals severe damage to an opponent.
Now that I've droned on about the gameplay, I'll keep the story section a bit shorter. Star Force 3's plot is a massive step up from the previous game, reincorporating plot elements from the first Star Force and continuing major character arcs that, at least in my opinion, stalled in the second game. There is clear indication of character growth as a result of the previous games, and some solid arcs on top of that for both old and new characters. Despite the postgame hinting towards an unfortunately cancelled sequel, the game has a solid conclusion to this trilogy that's enjoyable the entire way through.
Overall, Star Force 3 is a game I've gone back to so many times over the years, and I'm sure I'll play again in the future. It's not a game for everyone, and for those who loved Battle Network and weren't big on the gameplay changes of the first Star Force this game won't change your mind, but I can't help but love playing this game over and over.

kino3 the best game in bn/sf series

This review contains spoilers

I would consider this the best in the BN/SF series. Great story with some genuine emotional moments, a real sense of urgency for the problems you have to solve, and plenty of compelling twists and turns. The gameplay is improved from SF1 and the changes to the card system along with the new noise change system help it to compete with the depth of the BN gameplay after it was simplified in the first game. I am also very grateful that they removed the touchscreen minigames and replaced them with decently fun normal ones. I was going to say they babied out by having mega and kelvin return home in the end but it was too sweet for me to dislike it. I liked all the new characters as well besides Jack who is a twerp. It was also fun skipping star force 2 and having edgemaster Solo thrown at me.

The secret to this game is that you let your guard down. It's a Shonen game, you've seen it all. Before you know it this game has eclipsed every expectation. So many memorable and downright badass moments go down in the story, the crown jewel of the entire franchise. Battles are fantastic--mixing and matching Styles by drawing upon your Brothers BrotherBands, accumulating Noise to acquire Illegal Cards and while simultaneously transforming into a godly beast... The gameplay loop is fun. Ridiculously fun. Music is top-notch. And while PvP can never live up to Battle Network, this is deep and rewarding in its own right. I think it's all the better because it's a Shonen game. It's a rare game that evokes youth without preying on nostalgia. I can't heap enough praise on Megaman Starforce 3.

playing mmsf2 was worth it to get to this point. the first game has gotta be one of my favorite DS games of all time, and this one blows it out of the water. all the gameplay improvements from the second game carry over, with some new ones that kick ass even more (pulsing in anywhere you want and walking on the ground is sooo refreshing). the story is great, with genuinely hype moments and an actually interesting story from start to end. it's such a great bow tying finish to the series, and i love how all of the gameplay improvements are intrinsically linked with technological improvements within the world that also drive the story. it's probably the funniest mmsf game, and definitely the most emotional. it absolutely still has that kinda cheesy writing from time to time, but damn, i'd be lying if i said i didn't cry 90% of the time the theme song for this series plays.

while i enjoy the first game a lot, it gets kinda tiring after a while. after a certain point, i was only playing the second game to finish it. mmsf3 is different. i had a longer playthrough on this than both of the prior games individually. i never got bored in a play session; i always stopped because i had to go do something else. there's an insane amount of actually good boss fights, especially the final boss fight, which was probably peak mmsf gameplay for me. there's even some segments in this game that AREN'T wave battling that are fun! minigame type shit like for all mmsf dungeons but hell, i was into it. also, they fixed the absurdly high random encounter rate in the second game (thank fuck).

can't believe it took me this long to finally get around it. i was assuming i'd like it, but about as much as i love mmsf1 (4 stars for me). but no, this is peak. i still have tears on my face from that ending. i love megaman star force,,,

This is the best megaman game ever made, and it's not even a platformer

Coming off of Star Force 2 I would have never expected this to be the apex of not only Star Force but also the Battle Network series. Battles finally feel on par with if not above Battle Network with the return of some key mechanics (Area Steal and Style Changes) plus the introduction of the Noise system and Illegal Data making every battle worth finishing for new rewards to play with. The story is back to the tone you'd expect from Star Force and has a lovely ending that anyone would want from seeing this trilogy through. It all comes together so well that I actually felt compelled to complete its postgame unlike SF1 or 2's. Battle Network 3 is still a personal favorite, but I can't deny the polish this game has above it and the rest.

If you arent a Certified Bad Boy, do 🚫✋NOT✋🚫 play this game. Bad Boys ONLY. Only play this game if you like COOL and STYLISH things and are ready to get real BAD.

Tem a melhor história dos 3 jogos e justamente foi o único q n teve anime.

As a final conclusion to the Star Force Trilogy, this game takes the cake as the best of the trilogy! Noise system is so fun in combat and chain various card attacks is so rewarding. All the boss battles are insane! The post game campaign was so tough and requires you to near 100% the game(which I managed to do) but seeing all the badges at the title screen felt so rewarding! I really love this game and it's a perfect send off to Geo Stelar, one of my favorite characters of all time.

SF3 is the final game of the Star Force trilogy, as it did get poor sales worldwide, but I think is a gem from the DS that need to be played, because it evolved more in kinda what SF2 wanted to do, and fixed the problems I had with SF2, as it had a better story overall, maybe not better than SF1 for some, but it does a great job regardless, especially in how to close this saga considering it was the last game from the series, or even bringing back some characters from SF1 and from SF2, even making them better in this game compared to the last one, there isn't almost any padding, like SF1 did, and in gameplay SF3 is the one that has more mechanics to it, the card system now is almost totally different, Mega Man can now get lots of transformations, especially because of the Multi-Noise ones, and is just a pretty fun system overall, as it brings strategy of you using what you have in hand, and being good enough using all of those cards, and some secrets in how make the battles easier, and in terms of difficulty, is maybe easier than SF2, but I think it has a better difficulty curve than any of the SF games
I think SF3 is the best one out of the three, because is what SF2 wanted to do, without his problems, and expanding on those ideas, yeah, the system changed a bit again, especially the Wave Road again, but is still a great game even with those changes, changes that weren't bad, they are great and apreciated changes, at least for me, and even if the games are divided in two games, this one is the one with the most minimal differences there is, the major ones being a card and the transformation being innacesible to the other, but I think that's a great way to these splitting game shenanigans
And there's not much more that I can say, I think SF3 is the best on out of the trilogy, not for story alone, if not because of how this one improved in the battle mechanics so much, something SF2 wanted to do, but aside of his problems, SF3 does a lot more than the sequel wanted to do, in a pretty great way, and having probably the most fun dungeons/stages ever
You can tell I love this game, so much, is one of the most fun ones I had in a while, with a great story in-between

PEAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Yes sir glory to Geo Stelar 🫡 also holy shit this game had no business slapping this hard the gameplay shits on the previous two and the story had me hooked til the end fuck that ending for making me tear up

cygnus noise best noise. free airshoes/floatshoes >>>>>>>>>

i enjoyed the first 2 games when i was younger, i never got to play this one until now though. it has an awesome transformation system, simple and charming characters, fun lighthearted humor and some great music.
i found the gameplay to be fun but after i started to play the BN series i can see why people criticize it for being a lot simpler.
it's a shame that they didn't continue the series, but it was nice to see the game end in such a sweet note. i always had a crush on luna.
fun fact: im pretty sure i beat the entire trilogy without knowing i could shield

geo stelar is GOAT, rawest 5th grader i know

the best of the star force games, bar none. that's not a very high bar but it is what it is. i was in a fansub group for the star force anime and the ending of this game made me tear up.

i completely understand why people didn't much like these games but knowing that star force 4 was in early development and got canned still hurts. feel like shit just want them (moody shonen hero and his boisterous dumb alien partner) back
