Finished it short of 100hours (story, sidequesting but not all, and crafting). Absolutely love the gameplay, the story is a bit "meh", no tears.

They made it for me and even I don't like it that much

O jogo é divertido, é muito massa jogar como Na'vi mas as missões secundárias são ridículas, só pra ter a desculpa de um mapa enorme, não tive paciência para ficar caçando e criar item. Bem que poderia ter uma forma de jogar melhor no furtivo.

Would love to see more Avatar games in the future, although I'm not sure I'd want Ubisoft to tackle them.

why is the armor stat "health" what the fuck does it even mean???? me and my co-op partner never figured it out.. riding on the animals rather than your bird is pointless, the berry plucking mechanic is fucked up and clan favor shit is also a pain in my ass.. whatever who cares. why do we bother with ubisoft.

I hope the star wars game is better than this lmao.


I’ve been a fan of this franchise ever since I was a little kid and I’ve played the games on PS3 and Wii. I was also really excited about this game’s release because I had been anticipating it for years.

As soon as you first step foot on Pandora, you witness first hand the sheer power of the PS5 when it comes to the graphics. You’re first surrounded by beautiful colors and a vast and diverse environment. A great deal of lore is added to the films (traditions, culture, new clans, etc.). The script is still better than the second film and the game lets you appreciate the full scope of the map with your very own Ikran. It was one of the most anticipated functionality for me and god did it not disappoint.

Unfortunately, just like many games, being pretty isn’t enough to be good. Side quests and collectibles are way too boring and it feels like we’re doing the same thing over and over again. Getting attached to the characters has been really difficult, even with the side quests supposed to deepen your relationship with them. The crafting system, while being a bit too redundant, is easy enough to use.

When it comes to the gameplay, I sometimes find it to be too much of a copy paste with the Horizon series. The use of the Na’vi sens is similar with Aloy’s focus, especially with the system that allows you to follow your enemy's tracks. You can highlight your enemy’s weaknesses and gain information about your surroundings.

The game still contains a lot of bugs and not even cute ones that drop your frame rate a little or take time to charge textures. The bugs you encounter could have you delete your saves to get away from them. The co-op is also fun but it may cause more problems to the person that isn’t hosting (Ikran not available, missions not counted as completed and the unavailability of everything that isn’t a main quest or a big side quest). But the game is still a whole lot of fun to play with a friend.

In conclusion, I had fun playing it even if it was pretty basic. It won’t revolutionize the video game world but I still recommend it as I had a great time and I’m still waiting for the DLC’s to come out !

There's a point somewhere in the middle of this game's third act where I thought "wow, they're really about to deliver something incredible here, why is the good stuff buried so deep into this game?" Unfortunately, that feeling evaporated not long after, the writing once again failing to meet the mark.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an absurdly beautiful game, featuring the flora and fauna of Pandora in all of their alien glory. Seriously, this is one of the best looking games I've had the pleasure of playing on my PS5. The game also delivers a movement system that feels far better than I expected it would, and a deep resource gathering and crafting system that rewards delicacy and planning in meaningful ways. Unfortunately, other than gather and play the main story missions, there's not a lot to do in the stunning world this game provides. The side content is largely boring and forgettable. Worse yet, that's also how I'd describe most of the plot. I really like both Avatar movies, so I was probably an easier get than most, but by the end of this game I was almost completely disinterested in the story's conclusion. I think with some more work this could have been a really solid RPG, with narrative decision making and good story-integrated side content. Alas, it's clear the effort here went into the game world, not the plot that takes place within it.

Though decent, most of the combat in this game didn't really capture me either. The bow feels good, but it's somewhat limited in its use, and the enemy variety isn't really there. It's mostly either foot soldiers or variously skinned mechs that generally act the same, and while I enjoyed clearing out the outposts I never went seeking combat for its own sake. I'm just a sucker for a game focused on reclaiming territory. At 99 hours (hey, I did say I loved Avatar), I can't say that I didn't enjoy my experience, at least a little. But it's not a game I think I'd recommend. With as many hours as I've sunk into it, I'll probably come back for the DLC. Maybe I'll find something more to enjoy here. But I'm not as excited as I'd hoped I would be.

Ubisoft a tenté de créer une nouvelle expérience de jeu avec la possibilité d'utiliser les sens na'vis pour s'orienter par exemple. Le jeu est sympa à réaliser en coopération les premières heures mais dispose d'un scénario rapidement lassant et décousu. Pour les plus courageux, le platine n'est pas difficile à obtenir mais particulièrement fastidieux (pour rester poli). Je recommande ce jeu si vous avez quelques piécettes à depenser sur le store uniquement.

I hoped that it would be more similar to Far Cry. There is however no stealth in this game, I didn't like the combat, and the na'vi vision wasn't very helpful in guiding me.

This game is extremely poor.

Boring bland story, clunky, annoying, spammy combat/gameplay (would have been better 3rd person).

Eine optische Reise nach Pandora mit wenig Tiefe

Nachdem ich Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora ausprobiert habe, das ich als kostenlosen Bonus zu meiner neuen Grafikkarte erhalten habe, sind meine Eindrücke gemischt. Ich hatte nie ein starkes Interesse an dem Spiel, da ich vermutete, dass es im Grunde FarCry mit einem "Avatar"-Skin sein würde - eine Annahme, die sich als zutreffend erwies.

Ich habe dem Spiel etwa 8 Stunden gewidmet und für mich beschlossen, dass diese Zeit ausreicht, um mir ein Urteil zu bilden. Bis zu diesem Punkt fühlte es sich so an, als ob noch nichts Wesentliches passiert wäre. Auf der positiven Seite ist die Welt von Pandora zweifellos beeindruckend gestaltet. Die visuellen Aspekte des Spiels sind atemberaubend und stellen die exotische Schönheit Pandoras in den Vordergrund.

Jedoch stießen mir die Charaktere negativ auf. Sie wirkten plastisch und konnten mein Interesse überhaupt nicht wecken. Die Interaktion mit ihnen hinterließ keinen bleibenden Eindruck, und emotional konnte ich keine Verbindung zu ihnen aufbauen.

Die Geschichte selbst empfand ich als oberflächlich. Ich wurde in eine Mission geschickt, jemanden aufzuhalten, zu dem ich keine emotionale oder narrative Verbindung spüren konnte. Dies machte es schwer, ein Gefühl der Dringlichkeit oder Bedeutung meiner Aufgaben im Spiel zu empfinden.

A Visual Journey to Pandora with Little Depth

After trying out Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which I received as a free bonus with my new graphics card, my impressions are mixed. I never had a strong interest in the game, suspecting it would essentially be FarCry with an "Avatar" skin - an assumption that proved correct.

I dedicated about 8 hours to the game and decided for myself that this time was sufficient to form an opinion. Up to this point, it felt as if nothing of substance had happened yet. On the plus side, the world of Pandora is undoubtedly impressively designed. The visual aspects of the game are stunning, highlighting the exotic beauty of Pandora.

However, the characters left a negative impression on me. They seemed plastic and failed to capture my interest at all. Interacting with them left no lasting impression, and I couldn't forge an emotional connection with them.

I found the story itself to be superficial. I was sent on a mission to stop someone with whom I could feel no emotional or narrative connection. This made it difficult to feel a sense of urgency or significance in my tasks within the game.

Beautiful artwork and environments. Gameplay is pretty basic though.

Side plot is boring and somewhat simplistic but the world of Avatar leaves much to be desired considering the movies anyway. Still fun to explore and be in the beautiful and colorful world Avatar, just don't expect much else from it

This game is fantastic so far, the world is beautiful and there’s so much to do and explore. The story keeps your attention, the side quests aren’t repetitive and actually give the world/story more detail. I’m trying my best not to binge play it lol

I have a confession to make. I am an out and proud Avatar stan. A Blue Boy through and through. And yet even a beautifully rendered world with the most lush forests I can recall in gaming can't remove the Ubisoft Stink from this generic, soulless title.

Bit bland but fun combat and survival elements

I just can't bring myself to play this in its current state, With better games releasing in 2024, the uninspired and "Far cry but you're blue" just doesn't hit. I might pick it up later but there's really no point unless a bunch of the issues are fixed in updates and DLC.

Visually it's a really nice game, the night and day both are stunning. The game is a cross between dead by daylight / farcry and mirrors edge. The story is ok and there is a clear message of we messed up on earth. Overall I really enjoyed the game and would probably play it again soon if DLC was added.

Graphically amazing game, had me just simply looking out at the vistas at many points.

As for the gameplay though, its your usual ubisoft far cry clone with no real substance to it. They had some great ideas in the game but none were really fleshed out, adds some interesting movement mechanics within the plants of the world yet they're only ever used within linear mission pathways or just randomly scattered around the map when I feel like they could've made traversing the map a whole lot more interesting.

The story is serviceable and just feels like a bland way of bringing the Avatar story to a game.

The game is also one of few that pretty much enforces ray tracing which means unless you have an RTX card or a high end AMD you're gonna suffer a lot with performance issues.

Si Ubisoft a respecté l’univers d’Avatar, ce n’est pas le cas de ses joueurs. En effet passées les deux premières heures de jeu où nous avons l’impression de voir quelque chose de nouveau, d’innovant, nous nous rendons vite compte de la supercherie. Si nous pouvions penser que ce jeu allait être un Far Cry déguisé, nous avions tords. Il s’agit en réalité d’un sous Far Cry. Beaucoup d’éléments y sont mais en moins biens. A l’instar des avant-postes que pouvez terminer sans tuer aucun ennemis. Il vous suffit juste de rusher les objectifs seul ou à plusieurs. En dehors de cela, beaucoup d’éléments du jeu sont répétitifs jusqu’à frôler l’indigestion… Mais nous avons l’habitude avec Ubisoft, les champions du recyclage. Cependant, faire ce jeu en coopération et avoir l’univers d’avatar sous nos yeux reste sympathique. Le jeu est parfois joli, (de jour dans la forêt par exemple) et quelques éléments scénaristes sont sympathiques. Vous pouvez faire ce jeu une fois entre potes mais sachez avant de vous lancer qu’il ne vous laissera certainement pas un souvenir impérissable.

One of the most refreshing open-world games I've ever played. It asks you not to just simply explore its world but to become one with it, to connect with it, and to respect it. It's the antithesis of so many modern AAA games that only have you running through a world as its sole focal point. The systems in the gameplay loop are familiar but they're done in a way that's much more thoughtful to how you interact with the world and forces you to truly connect with it on a deeper level than just as a map filled with things.

Um jogo com tanto material e opções do que explorar e ainda sim nossa querida Ubisoft só conseguiu transmitir o que mais sabe, conteúdo esquecível.

I may be one of the few people who actually enjoys the Ubisoft formula (I actually LIKED Far Cry's towers!), but even this game can be a bit much. The gameplay itself emulates Far Cry but with enemies who are either 4 feet smaller than you or in mech suits, so it's of good quality. The world for this game is easily one of the best looking games I've ever seen, and the amount of imagination and love poured into both fern and fauna is astonishing. What really hurts this game is it's open world exploration loop. While you no longer need to climb towers or anything else to arbitrarily reveal nearby landmarks, anything that you CAN find in the world struggles to be interesting. No interesting quest lines, no secret easter eggs, and no major sense of variety.

The repetition cannot be overstated. You will find either a plant you tap to receive skill points, a plant you tap to give you a (very) small permanent health boost, or do a small twirl of your looking joystick to fix an object. While there are some exceptions, such as the memory painting activities and the totem scavenger hunts, these are absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer number of other repetitive functions.

The writing itself also struggles to be particularly interesting with very flat characters and unremarkable dialogue. Some credit has to be given to the player VOs, as they absolutely sell the joy, terror, and surprise you will put them through in the 30-60 hours it takes to beat this game. They'll even emit an audible "Ow!" when you bonk your head against an object above you! Unfortunately, almost nothing notable happens outside the already mostly ho-hum main campaign. My only other exception is the final level, which actually manages to live up to it's expectations and deliver a memorable conclusion to the game. If only it didn't take dozens upon dozens of hours doing boring fetch quests and touching plants to get there.

A graphical showcase for sure but after a while just makes me feel like I'm playing Far Cry again. In the way that enemies are pretty easy, content variety is sparse, and it becomes a slug to do anything but the main missions.

Fun enough for co-op though.
