my graphics card sucks therefore the game sucks

This will be excellent down the line, but the playlists suck and the menus are buggy af

"Not at Launch" is this game's mantra, and it's a real shame. The base game is entirely solid, and most of the issues surrounding Infinite's F2P multiplayer - Egregious MTX that are more "Macro" than "Micro" in pricing, weird weapon nerfs from the pre-release flights, and needlessly restrictive armor customization really leave an ugly mark on an otherwise excellent package. Once again a barebones MP launch after Halo 5's non-existent suite of game modes and community features even after a 1-Year delay is... Baffling.

Coming off of the promising sounding promo materials regarding monetization and customization as well, the trend continues - If a 343i Halo game sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

343 finally made a good halo, but they accidentally fucked it up with the shitty payment progression.

They've promised more features with time, but whether or not they change the free-to-play economy into something that doesn't feel predatory remains to be seen.

343 have produced what is almost the PERFECT Halo multiplayer with this.

I haven't enjoyed Halo multiplayer this much since Halo 3, Reach was great but not on the same level.
The gunplay feels a little weird, could be that I'm not used to the game anymore but it doesn't feel bad, the only thing that IS bad, no player collision, the amount of times me and an opponent melee each other only to then pass through each others body and start looking around frantically is too damn high!
Reduced melee lock on distance is a good thing but my muscle memory hates it at the moment.

Game modes feel slightly limited and the variety of maps could have been a bit more diverse if you want to start nit picking, the maps are great but the biomes are all pretty much the same.
Having no Slayer only playlist is a bit annoying because the Slayer players are infesting objective game modes and not playing objective, that's one of my biggest pet peeves in multiplayer games.
These are things that will become irrelevant over time because it's a game as a service now and the maps and mode selection will become larger.
Forge is yet to come also and that usually produces some awesome maps and really fun game modes.

Everyone knows...The Battlepass system blows. I have absolutely no problem with skins that cost money and stuff, providing there are skins you can unlock for free by playing. I just want to be able to unlock them at a fun pace and not feel like it's a real chore.

The game can easily become a 5 star game, improved map & game mode selection and improve the Battlepass. The game mode and map selection are almost guaranteed but the Battlepass, we will see. I have faith that 343 will get it right, they acted fast on initial feedback and it just takes a bit of testing and time to get it right.

It's like the halo I remember, but today. And that both strikes the "good gameplay" and nostalgia bones, hard.

Not gonna give it a rating because its still in beta technically but super fun and excited for the future of this game

As far as the game right now, the gameplay is some of the best, if not the best in the series so far. Maps are all great. Hope they fix a couple of issues I have but the team seems willing to work on it and improve it. If this doesn't prove true I will be sad.

I loved playing this game, in gameplay side it is almost perfect. Gunplay is fun, levels are well designed, gear variety is satisfactory, graphics are good but there are some problems and if they don't fix it fast, they will lose their playerbase.

First, technical side is very bad atm. PC Optimization is just laughable. Thankfully I have a strong PC but not everyone is that lucky and for a multiplayer game (mostly), it is not acceptable to demand that much power. Vram usage of this game is just insane af.

And servers... I didn't see a lot of people having problems with servers but for me, they are really bad. I don't have the greatest internet connection but I can play Overwatch and other mp titles without any problems. But Halo Infinite servers just doesn't work right! And this game doesn't forgive you if you have lag...

Second, progression system. They actually made it better but with some cheap glue and tape. And it will go BOOM when the time comes. Making your only progression system Battle Pass is stupid. Even they said, BPs won't expire still it makes game feel so dull. And honestly, rewards are pretty bad.

Also challanges are really stupid and they don't count most of the time. When you say "want to have darker green skin? then kill 5 enemies with this gun. yeah, we know you can't use it but c'mon give it a try" you are just making game hard for everyone else. When your players are only playing the game to get "blu", they don't care about objectives and they make other's games shit.

And you are telling me nothing i do in games matter? If there is no real reward for my sick moves, i can just feed and still get rewards. This is not a good way to make your players rewarded.

Third, customization is just laughable. If you don't have any money, you can get the default blue skin for second time! Even if you have time money, you will still be the same to your teammate. I captured multiple photos of me and my teammates, and we all look the same! If I look like the beginner after pouring so many hours, it just doesn't matter. Y'all can shit on OW, but you can't deny how good customization system is. And you can get most of the skins by just playing the goddamn game, and not by trying to make some stupid challenges.

I really liked the game but, i won't play it very often until problems are fixes. Give it a try. It is fun.

I've invested a good 25 hours or so in the MP so I feel like I've played enough to rate it for now.

It's really good. Mechanically this is such a solid Halo game. I still feel a little iffy on the some of the weapons. Halo 5 just seemed to have a much better arsenal of weaponry IMO. I also miss the movement abilities of that game. I feel like Halo Infinite's MP would be better if everyone had a grapple instead of it being a powerup but this might be a specific nitpick that only applies to me.

I may end up raising this score after more play. But so far, it's a lot of fun but not the most fun i've had in Halo MP.

Oh and yeah the levelling and cosmetic shit sucks and feels terrible to engage with. God I hate what Battle Passes did to modern Multiplayer games.

Idk. This

Saw the season 2 announcement and decided to review it with around 90 hours played.

Halo Infinite is a superb multiplayer experience that is sadly hamstrung by some of the worst content drip I've seen in a live service game with a bumpy progression.

Starting extremely positive however is the overall gameplay feeling absolutely phenomenal. Movement might be the best it's ever been in the series with so much combining to make a satisfying experience (grapple + skewer my beloved). Also the overall chaos that can be acheived is incredible and the maps feel incredibly well designed. Also very much support the battle pass not expiring like every other game.

Sadly so much is weakened by the live service aspect choking the game. Content drip has been TERRIBLE with fuck all maps being introduced leading to an overall hollow experience. Only two new modes got added (Fiesta and Swat) that were pretty good but did not do much to alleviate this issue. It should not take SIX FUCKING MONTHS to get maps for a game that is this monetized. Speaking of that the progression changes have been incredibly middling, with level ups feeling incredibly sporadic unless going for challenges (which are a coin toss most of the time). Also want to note the optimization has been weird as well though last time I played I was able to consistently get 60 with medium-high settings.

Overall my time with Halo Infinite has been incredibly positive but certain aspects make it one of the least enjoyable Halo MPs. Hoping Season 2 and onward abolishes my issues because this is genuinely some of the most fun I've had with a shooter since Titanfall 2.

Final Rating:8.5/10

Fucking throwback, just wish the battle pass had more customization for all of noble team

It's Halo!
I hadn't played it since 3 and this one was very fun, actually.

It's Halo, and it's a lot of fun. The only real complaints I have are with the monetization of the game and extremely slow progression. But my god, this is the most fun I've had with a multiplayer FPS in a really long time.

I realise 343 were in the unenviable position of needing to make a good Halo game, but given they did so, they needed to convince people to actually try it, and so we got this free-to-play deal. It's a real shame because the core game feels like classic Halo with a respectable bit of Reach and 4 thrown in, and I would love to be able to just buy it and avoid the horrible monetisation dreck we're left with.

The battle pass progression feels extremely predatory, and despite a welcome post-launch change to add experience for each played game, the fact that without going premium there are many levels where you get absolutely no reward feels completely ghoulish. Even a handful of armour customisation options available from the jump, or unlocked in-game would alleviate this problem, but Microsoft have clearly seen the whales on the horizon and that's now the focus.

All that being said, the core gameplay is fantastic, a real return to form for the series. Guns feel and sound great, the mechanics work how they ought to, and it's just downright fun. Jumping in a fire team with friends is a great time, and well worth the time. Some of the newer game types feel a bit off - what the heck is a power seed, anyway - but the gameplay itself is so solid that really doesn't matter too much.

Gamepad input is a bit weird, and I'm struggling to dial in the settings just how I like, I think there might be a bit of an aggressive deadzone making things feel pretty coarse.

I can't find the fucking battle pass

So far I’m a little disappointed by the excessive battle pass and overall monetization, as well as the lack of custom options. I’m also not a fan of the 10-second default respawn time (it works in some modes, but why in Slayer?). However, the game plays and feels great: they nailed the core gameplay loop. Hopefully the campaign is good.

as of now it's really good. it needs more game modes besides the current three it already has, but it'll probably updated more as time goes on. when it does, i'll gladly bump up the rating.

Very fun so far. A few issues with the hit-reg and level progression, but overall, It's a really enjoyable game.

Genius move to make it free-to-play as COD and Battlefield launched pretty poorly. I'm also more interested in the single player now.

Edit: I've stopped playing now, and I think it's because the devs just haven't done enough to keep people interested. Not their fault, I just think they underestimated how quickly people move on from games.

I don't enjoy competitive multiplayer games where the only goal is to kill people for no reason and get killed al the time, so I only spend around 2 hours with this, but gameplay wise it's just super good. The only complain I have is I wouldn't mind respawns being a bit faster, but that's such a minor thing.

I played this for a couple hours last night and like, bro....... I love Halo.......

very happy that this has cross-platform play, because I'm excited to digitally hang out with my Halo-loving brother in Texas and play this

also, isn't the team intro scene fucking hilarious?? it's like these space suit dudes posing and shit while it displays their names like

fist pump
RedddSoxxz6699

heroic pose
XxItsPizzaxX

me? my gamertag is gaymilesdavis ... see yall out there

fun, but progression sucks and ping is infinite just like the name says

I cannot believe with YEARS of hindsight, two failed attempts and an absurdly high budget from one of the biggest coorporations in the world, they still managed to fuck so many things up.

At the very least 4v4 game modes are pretty great, (other than skill based matchmaking) movement, weapon varitety and balancing and maps are all WAY better than 4 and 5. But what they really fucked up is the progression, yes everyones already said this but the only way to unlock customisation is a battle pass that you can only progress by completing challenges. This is obviously terrible and shockingly stupid, even fortnite, which this game has clearly copied with it's monitisation, gives you xp to progress just by playing.

Big team battle feels wrong, maybe it's the skill based matchmaking but unlike 4v4 it feels much more like hiding and shooting enemies from far away is the most effective tactic. Vehicles are so incredibly weak, you'd think that after adding a grappling hook (which is severly effective against vehicles) they would make the vehicles a bit stronger.

After thinking about it I wish they didn't go free to play, at least give bonuses to people who have bought the game. It felt less special when it came out, and i'm sure if it wasn't free the progression and customisation would have been better

Needs more maps, and better matchmaking. Currently players dont have a choice with which gamemode they play, which makes completing missions harder.
