Awesome throwback to the old turtles Beat'em ups.

I likes da turtles and I likes da beat em ups

First of all, I'm not this big of a TMNT or beat-em ups fan,
but this game is one of the best if not the best beat-em up out there. Firstly, the game feels fun to play and the combos aren't that hard to remember, the characters feel balanced and each one is fun to play just like the other one. The enemy designs are also pretty cool as well and fit the level themes very well (especially the bosses), speaking of levels they look absolutely gorgeous and have so many little details in them. The music is also composed by the amazing Tee Lopes so expect some bangers outta that. The game is also so much fun with your friends and I recommend playing the game with your friends together through the game, definitely makes the games better. Now my problems with my game is that it got some glitches, although I only encountered a few, they would crash the game and even make it unplayable.
That aside the game is amazing and the best beat-em up I've ever played, I highly recommend it for those who like beat-em ups and for those who want a fun game to play when you get some friends over. 9/10

God exists and he's a party dude.

A very fun Beat em up with the right amount of difficulty. However I do wish there was a training mode.

Very good game, looks fantastic, very short, the perfect beat em up game

Turtles in Time was one of my favourite beat em ups growing up. One of few games I had for my SNES so I played it a lot. This sequel (of sorts I guess) expands on the design and overall vibe of the classic Turtles game and delivers one of the best scrolling best em up games I've played since the glory days of Streets of Rage and Turtles games.

I wasn't particularly arsed about this as I thought it was just gonna be pandering drivel to be honest, playing on people's nostalgia for the old Turtles games and that era in general, but it's a genuinely great beat em up as well as reminding me how rad the ninja turtles are.

Can't wait to play through this again with my pals.

it’s a very average game. Some good stuff and some stuff I don’t like. If you like TMNT, i’d recommend it. If you don’t, I wouldn’t bother.

this game fucking rocks!!! instantly one of my favorite beat em ups ever. it's a pretty limited genre (imo) but with some of the most appealing pixel art i've ever seen, killer soundtrack, and ninja turtle fan service thrown around everywhere this was an absolute blast. the only negative was the online experience was a bit buggy (we had to reset 1 level and challenges were kinda confusing on if they applied to us all or not) but aside from that is was an absolute blast! exactly what i want from this game when i saw it get revealed.

edit: dlc makes an already amazing game into an even better one! survival mode is a ton of fun to grind out, and karai is the most fun character in the game now. color palettes are really cute too with lots of fun references. this game just owns so hard

Shredders Revenge was an absolute delight from top to bottom. You can feel the passion the team behind this game has for the turtles. So many references I'm sure to have missed, as well. There is a lot of replay value in this one with lots to collect, and the animation and overall voice acting is such a treat to see and hear. The combat definitely ensures a lot of creativity and not just button mashing with a variety of moves at your disposal. Chalk this one up to one of the top of the line beat em ups worth all your attention in recent years.

an extremely well-produced, colorful, fully fleshed out beat-em-up that stays exactly a beat-em-up. yes i recognize the callbacks. yes its nice to be pandered to. yes its still a beat em up.

Really well done short n sweet love letter to the classic arcade TMNTs. Great Sprite work and very fun animations, great voicework n a phenomenal sound track. Only real complaint is i wish there was a bit more in the way of incentives for collecting everything / replaying with everyone, other than achievements.

A really damn wholesome beat ‘em up experience. The visuals and sprite-work is really damn impressive and charming in how it pays lip service to the 80s Ninja Turtles aesthetic and designs. Tee Lopes once again delivers hard with the assignment with the soundtrack (including that one Wu Tang Clan boss theme). They also did a great job with the playstyles of the differing characters, especially outside of the main four.

Casey Jones and April are the real MVPs to main.

Take every single element of the older TMNT beat-em-up games and turns everything up to 11.
The visuals and sprite work is outstanding, it does such a good job replicating the look of the 80's show right down to the background looking like they were done with watercolor.
The OST is also amazing, knowing that Tee Lopes did the work on this makes a lot of sense since he's really good when it comes to capturing the tone and sound on specific projects he works on. (side note: never before did I think I'd hear Wu-Tang Clan in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game but here we are).

This is the perfect TMNT game through and through.

Side-scrolling brawlers haven’t made the smoothest transition to the current day. They don’t hold up as well outside of the arcade realm since their difficulty and short, repetitive gameplay loops aren’t as tuned for the home console experience. Dotemu and Tribute Games have been developing and modernizing nostalgia-driven titles for some time, which has naturally culminated in a collaboration to reimagine one of the most beloved arcade games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, the product of that partnership, is a wonderful contemporary brawler that uses the skills of those two studios well, even if it doesn’t push the Turtles as far out of their shells as it could have.

Okay, that was unexpected... definitely the best traditional beat em' up i ever played. Don't remember having so much fun with one in ages.

7,5/10
Well, what can I say, making a ninja turtle bitemup was originally a win-win idea, regardless of the quality and originality of the project, but the game still managed to surprise me a little.
Let's start with the fact that I'm not a fan of this genre at all, I consider it very outdated and monotonous, and "nastolgy", of course, a very marketing trick, so I also never liked the turtles cartoon from 80s, I remember cooler cartoons from the 2000s, not so caricatured.
In general, despite the fact that I’m not the target audience of this game at all, but it was able to captivate me for 2 hours, very high-quality animations, various pretty locations, co-op for up to 6 people with keyboard/mouse support and remote play, all game mechanics are made according to the classics, i didn`t found any gameplay problems (albeit with my completely unprofessional look in the genre, but still), on the contrary, there are a lot of cool little things, such as, for example, the ability to heal allies by clapping their hands, and making a funny taunt.. for example... playing the console right during the battle, you will accumulate some energy) The smell of a slice of pizza helps raise fallen friends) You can throw enemies right at your screen. Ordinary fights are mixed with levels with fights in flight. And that's what the new turtle game is about, very creative, tasteful, probably the best Beat`em up I've played, but still doesn't offer anything unique enough, and the second half of the game (total duration of 3-4 hours) looks already not so exciting. Yes, and most of the bosses are animals very similar to each other, either a boar, or a bear, can i fight not only with animals?) There are also collectibles here, for which you seem to simply level up of the character, well, they could come up with something better. The plot here, of course, is as simple as possible, there is nothing to talk about, although the arts are cool.

A satisfying beat em up game and a major throwback to the classic 80s Konami game. Also this game just gives me a Scott Pilgrim vibe to it as well. Really great game!

This review contains spoilers

It's special for one game to completely blow you away with every aspect it has to offer, but it's even more special when another game does the same thing but with a series you've truly cared for.

For how short the initial playthrough is (I'm gonna try and 100% everything btw), this game made me feel something I haven't felt before in a long time. This game feels more like a well-crafted fan game than an official product in the best possible way and it gave me a feeling that I haven't felt in a long time and not in many games. I feel like I am overhyping the overall quality of the product, but dammit that doesn't stop me from enjoying every aspect of this game. Man, I love being a turtle.

When it comes to modern beat-em-ups, they haven't been all that for me. I like, not loved, the Scott Pilgtim game, and i didn't play but want to play Streets of rage 4. Bu this is probably one of, if not the best beat-em-up I've played.

i like how they made the taunt the core mechanic of this game

Good fundamentals. Suffers the same depth-positioning issues endemic to beatemups - the Z-axis continues to be a mistake (play Ninja Warriors). Awful, "wait until the game lets you do damage" final boss.

COOMER POWER

Played through the story in one go, this game is incredible. It looks great, the soundtrack is fantastic (Tee Lopes don't miss), and the game plays like a dream. The game is great.

Six-player co-op with voice chat was honestly one of the best co-op experiences I've had in the past 15 years. For a lifelong TMNT fan, this game is truly special. For beat-em-up fans, this is well beyond the average monotony of something like Castle Crashers. The movement, attacks, pacing, co-op interactions, art, music, etc., are all sublime. I haven't run through the game solo yet, but it feels clear that the game was meant to be played in a group.

I'm definitely gonna need to get some IRL pizza next time though

There isn't much to say about this one honestly. It's a really well made beatemup with an amazing soundtrack by tee lopes. If you like tmnt this will 100% be a treat.
