Yeah, its essentially a kids game - and we should be so lucky that kids have excellent kids games to play tbh. What do you want them playing, this or Hero Wars?

Only complaint was not long enough. very enjoyable game

A very brief and minimal indie game where you are asked to "paint" your way through the map and solve a few environmental puzzles. I wish the gameplay was more challenging, but I enjoyed the unique storytelling. The plot is nothing complex but I have to confess that its final considerations brought me close to tears (I guess I am getting old).

this fucking swan is getting paint every where

Loved this game when I was a kid. Beautifully designed but I do think the paint aspect has aged a little poorly.

Very artsy but short and almost...unfinished?

I do love how they made it feed into their later game, What Remains of Edith Finch, though.

I don't mean to come off as one of those people, cause I swear I'm not... this game is too artsy for me. You can probably take that very literally due to the actual mechanics of the game. I'm also not in to puzzle games, so that doesn't help.

I do appreciate how the game presents itself visually, though. That's a huge plus - it's too bad it's the only plus for me.

A lovely game and a great indie gem. Definitely an indie game I recommend to folks that is still very unique years later.

Disclaimer: These are my brief thoughts based on my memory of playing this 8 years ago:

very interesting and captivating

The game starts out strong, with a fun sequence that can get a "wow, nice!" out of you. It stays somewhat fun until the end, but the highs from the first level are not reached again.

I like this game a lot. The aesthetic of it is amazing, which is the best part. I thought the gameplay was pretty fun but I thought it had its best part at the very beginning. I loved the black and white aspect and felt it didn't reach that point for the rest of it. I liked the music a lot as well.

Do keep in mind that if you get nauseous easily playing games I've heard this game causes a lot of that.

Way too short and incredibly unsatisfying in the gameplay department. I get that this must be aimed largely at children and is told in the form of a bedtime story but I have to imagine actual children would be far more engaged with mechanics that actually challenged them and made them work for something. As it is, it's such a barebones and unfulfilling experience and I'm not sure I can recommend it to anyone.

Good adventure game. Love the main mechanic but it kinda falls to the wayside pretty quickly (I wish I got to paint empty spaces more you know). other than that I cried beating this for the first time. really just a great story told through very fun set pieces. gotta play that edith finch game

The Unfinished Swan is a sort of first person shooter/story adventure game. You're going though a story and you have to use your paint gun to cover areas to see where you have to go or other ways to get through the levels. It was a fun experience but a bit short. It's a great game for kids and with playing if you can get it for a good price.

Childlike whimsy, creative puzzles, and an intriguing unfolding world

love the concept of having to 'paint' the world, simplistic enough to get through and has a simple yet cute story

Probably the first niche indie game I ever experienced. Brought me into a world of games made by people who truly care about the artistry that goes into these titles. Big thanks to Stampylongnose for introducing me to this thing!

visually cool as fuck with some fun puzzle solving. worth burning thru it in a weekend

An adventure game with light puzzle solving, disjointed storytelling and ambiguous theme. I kept waiting for the moment when the story starts to make sense. It came at the very end while raising another question: what's the point. Oh, it could cause motion sickness as well.

Beautiful meta-game idea, it looks a bit wonky on the Vita though.
