New Vegas isn't for everyone, including me
This is my 3rd time trying and 1st time finishing the game with +600 mods to make it bearable.
The graphics are not only dated but ugly af, and the gameplay might be a bit slow but the story and characters are the main attraction here, and if you're not digging those, then the game's going to feel pretty bland.
The most fun thing for me was winning all jackpots at the casions (gamba addiction)

Fantastic game but it's very dated and the combat isn't good on a controller. On PC, I had a much better experience with combat. That said, while the gameplay isn't amazing, it is at least, a great Fallout game. Interesting characters, great call-backs to Fallout 1 & 2, and so much interesting lore/stuff to explore. If this game had Fallout 4's combat, I'd give it 5 stars. Because while I'm not crazy about Fallout 4's combat, it's a lot better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas's combat.
So many bugs and crashes everywhere and all the problems you find in most Bethesda games. Combat isn't that fun and some quests are criminally underdevelopped.
And then you find out about the writing, you fall in love with this universe, its characters, all the difficult choices you have to do at every turn. Then you get lost on your 5th playthrough and find a city full of toxic waste that you never seen before and discover 3 fun quests inside it. The experience is guided so you find many fun things, but there's also great stuff under the surface that you may miss.
The evil army that destroys everything manage to be both scary and incredibly believable despite the fact they're cosplayers using quaterback equipement, the companion's stories are bittersweet and a pleasure to discover, then there's a Presley impersonator faction that is taking itself so seriously that I didn't realize there was a joke for an embarrassingly long time. New Vegas is a story about letting go of our past and accept the present for what it can give, and what we can give to it for a better future. It can be sad, funny, creepy, epic, inspiring, and sometimes all of them.
It really shouldn't be that good.

this is my favorite open world game, because it's my favorite world in games. I recently played through FO1 and tried to replay FO4, but neither really hooked me the way this (seventh or eighth?) playthrough of FNV has. it is a perfect confluence of banger music, places with personality, and characters worth remembering. obviously its gunplay is dogshit, which makes it all the more confusing that we've never gotten a better title in this genre despite such obvious areas for improvement. if FO5 goes back to this game's emphasis on its world and characters with modern mechanics, it would be a slam dunk. will never happen though
The best part of this game for me was the Gameplay loop of exploring, talking to people, and doing side quests. Nearly all the companion quests and quests that award achievements were great.
The gunplay is old and outdated, which makes combat pretty unfun. I felt like guns would straight up not hit targets when I was aiming right at them. Also, some enemies feel like bullet sponges. Mods help can help improve this aspect of the game, but it is what it is.
There's also some technical issues I had with this game. This game notoriously crashes; thankfully, it didn't crash much while I played it. However, there was this one bug where music would go static and would stutter a lot after a few minutes of playing, which was super annoying, and I couldn't find a fix for it.
The show got me into this game, now I understand why people call it one of the greatest RPGs ever.

Pinacle of RPG's
Who would've guessed that when you pair the original developers of the Fallout games with Bethesda's open world system you get a perfect game?
Fallout New Vegas is the absolute pinnacle of RPG game design. You start off the game only knowing your name and the fact that you got shot, everything else is completely optional. You can kill whoever you want, befriend whoever you want, use whatever guns you want, choose whatever ending you want, complete quests however you want, and finish the story however you want. This game really took the masterpiece of Fallout 1 and 2's world, characters, and quest design and mixed it with Bethesda's open world, added an amazing story, and cooked up one of the greatest games ever.

It’s okay. It’s hella buggy and it pissed me off that I couldn’t complete a mission because of it. So I’m fearful that it’ll happen again with another mission. But overall I feel the story is okay, and I’ve played Outer Worlds and KOTOR 2 so I like the noticible Obsidian flare but other than that it seems overhyped I got to New Vegas so my opinion could be invalid but hey…game has other problems where I’m turned off from the story. Graphics are hella mid even if it’s dated, other Bethesda games back then still had better graphics. Perks are the only thing I like from the gameplay, too many ammo options, and the dreaded “conditions/deteriation” for weapons is annoying. I prefer Fallout 4 more!
