Kinda funny, but loses a lot of points for lacking custom tracks, being flavor-of-the-week twitchcore garbage, making me dizzy, and also for not having Neutral Milk Hotel's sophomore album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea in its entirety as one of the playable tracks.

Funny fun rhythm game that loses it's novelty once it stops becoming funny. Not hating or anything, this is a really well made game. But the only staying power it really has compared to other rhythm games is the modding scene. The gameplay alone isn't as satisfying as other rhythm games. It has a unique premise though so I will commend the devs for coming up with something original. Only get this if you wanna see cool modded in versions of your favourite songs, with a trombone twist. Having said that, I only recommend the PC version for the mods.

I bought this game as a joke. I saw the videos and it looked funny. And you know what? It was funny. What I did not expect was for it to be a genuinely fun rhythm game that I loved playing so much that I would put in the time to 100% it.

I got the game on PC first when all the funny videos were circulating, but it wasn’t until the Switch version came out that I really got into it. I busted it out when we had friends over and the four of us were in stitches playing the 4-player local multiplayer. Some of the most fun I’ve had playing couch co-op with friends. After we had our fun, I found myself coming back to it for a few hours a day wanting to “just play one more song” until suddenly I was trying to collect every card and unlock every item in my pursuit of the secret ending.

I can’t believe I loved the funny trombone meme game so much that I 100%’d it.

+ Funny tootin’
+ Good rhythm game actually?
+ Great local multiplayer
+ Plenty to unlock

Neat rhythm game, neater "campaign". Worth checking out on sale for the strange progression alone.

It was fun, probably not my thing, the replayability is short for me but maybe I just need to give it a little time to replay it and I'll be fine. It's goofy and fun but I only played it like twice.

Weiter machen.

The love child of Guitar Hero, Miis, and middle school band.

very funny, but also frustrating and bland at points. progressing could be more rewarding. 12,49 btw

by the power vested in me, i pronounce you hotdog and mozart

I really finished it now, I'm a Trombone Champ.

Funny horn game. Mod support was neat as well.

God crafted this game for us, and you should not ignore him. It's a very short rhythm game where the main battle is fighting through all the peepee poopoo jokes.

There is a very dedicated group of modders that help make the game even better by constantly updating it with custom music to play. Consider trying those out if you're not into the pre-selected music.

I do however have a fear of baboons, so this game turned me a bit feral.

I've gotten an A on Martians Killbots, that's my favorite. I've done nothing with my turds.

An authentic middle school band experience.

It has the Spider-Man 2's High Silk Hat theme song, so it's good.

Great rhythm game, tons of personality, albeit most of the song selection is public domain
The controls are extremely difficult but that's on purpose, but don't worry if you do bad you'll at least get a B

This was a great time for about 2 minuets

Best rhythm game?

It offers a great selection of songs, and you can add a dozen more with mods.

I may or may not have grinded high scores for this too xD

silly trombone game very very fun 🌭

I never finished it but what I did play was really fucking funny and amusing. It has a really nice sense of humor about itself, and it knows that it can only keep that humor up for so long which is why the game just doesn't feel like a super long game. Very entertaining, a cool take on the rhythm and music game genre, and one that I'll probably finish at some point!
And remember, baboons!

The true organic joy of analog controls writ large in booming discordant tones. Funniest game since QWOP.

A very stupid game (compliment)

I destroyed the fabric of reality using a trombone, some baboons, and a lot of hotdogs. Good game.

One of the first memories I have of intaking the internet's opinion on games is learning that Wii Music, a game that I loved before I could put it into words, was nearly universally criticized and made fun of. And while I intentionally avoid playing Wii Music for fear of realizing that my nostalgia is hiding a pretty underwhelming experience, I've never forgotten the feeling that game gave me - a feeling that adult me, for the first time, got through Trombone Champ.

Trombone Champ is an extremely goofy game, to some pretty high highs, like some really great jokes, and some pretty low lows, like the requirements to beat the game pretty much just being random. But, when you actually get into the gameplay, it's just so much fun to play. It's not a rhythm game that you could sink your teeth into for months on end, and the actual music played doesn't always, or usually, sound that great - but the approach towards appreciation for the fun of playing is so immensely rewarding.

It's pretty easy to get custom songs downloaded too, and, while some people create not so fun tracks, when you find a song you love with an actually fitting track - it creates such a rhythmically terrific time. Definitely a game I'll return to a bunch, as the catalogue of songs, both official and unofficial, continue to grow.

9/10
