Highly recommend it if you’ve never watched a shonen anime before so you’ll think it’s doing something new

Starting my account with this, the absolute pinnacle of gaming. This is one of the greatest pieces of media ever made, and the bar that all games need to meet. It is by no means perfect, it has tedious sidequests, some issues with the narrative, and annoying enemy types. But the universe, characters. the narrative, the voice acting, the music... Just every aspect of this game is just on another level. This is one of the most magical experiences you can ever have. I played this for the first time in 2015 and to this day nothing has topped it.

I was so confused playing this not long after English release, thinking it was ass, and then a few years later learning that people actually liked this game after it exploded in popularity. Humbling experience.
I thought this game had w/e combat made tedious due to the constant vision interruptions, a cast of mostly nothing characters with the characters that are actually relevant (like 3 of them in the main cast) still not being great, a fairly lame and cliche story only made only slightly better due to the cool setting, and a completely fucking lame final act. But clearly I went wrong somewhere because this is actually one of the greatest games ever made.
I cannot lie though, some story beats really hit me in the feelsies like when Dickson said "Can't say I feel too good about deceiving those kids." near the beginning of the game, powerful stuff.

When you think of a game that makes you fall in love with an entire genre, Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is one of the first that comes to mind. A game so good that literally lead to a fan petition to make Nintendo port it to the west, that is probably responsible for making me fall in love with JRPGs as a whole.

It is able to present a world you want to immerse in, with an imagination and a vibe that feels immaculate to this day despite the slightly outdated graphics.

A combat system that is really odd for jRPG standards, being more keen to a single player MMO. But it's still able to feel entising and fun, with really smart gimmicks that fits in the context od the story.

SPeaking of the story tho.... my god, the highs of this game are probably some of the best momnts I have ever experienced in a videogame. The narrative of Xenoblade 1 is able to convey so much emotions at once while able to narrate a story of war and revenge of man that struggle to change the his future. The narrative also features a large amount of twists, that creates a masterpiece of cinematic levels.

Incredible and phenomenal. A must play for everyone!

This is just a normal jrpg whats the hype

Caused many young British men's Joker arcs.

You can tell the characters are british because they live in a place with miles of fuck all and live on a daily risk of being shanked

this game flopped so bad that they had to make the sequel a game for coomers so it would sell copies....

The story, music, world and characters be so good then boom, you have to do ten tedious fetch quests with no real directions half the time to keep up with the main story level jumps just so you can get back to fighting cool bosses with a combat system that is simultaneously quite deep and yet it plays so shallowly. Every encounter is a glorified stat check with a LOT of waiting around, and while Xenoblade 1's combat system can lead to some hype moments, generally it was something I tolerated for the sake of the 10/10 narrative rather than actively enjoyed. Also the AI in this game SUUUUCKS! Play definitive edition instead if you are interested in experiencing kinoblade the way it was meant to. Riki is the best character in fiction.

It's Xenoblade Chronicles, come on! THE Best RPG franchise of the modern generation imo.

The absolute best setting in any jrpg, alongside a very nice combat system and great characters and story. The pinnacle of the genre and an easy recommendation.

There’s a reason why I consider Xenoblade Chronicles an absolute masterpiece. It’s characters are extremely well written and have phenomenal character growth, the combat is engaging and fun, the exploration is absolutely phenomenal, the music is fire, and the presentation is wonderful.

This is what started the Blade saga of the Xeno series. And it's one hell of a way to start it! I love that this game immediately thrusts you into conflict about 30 minutes after the game starts - and the stakes just keep getting higher. In tandem with the music, gameplay, and sprawling landscapes, this is an experience that no RPG player should miss out on. I do feel it could be about 10 hours shorter, and that the grinding barriers are a bit much sometimes, but other than that, so good.

Looking back at the times where I played this game for the first time, Xenoblade Chronicles was the first game I played where its story, characters, world building and everything related to that was so important. I used to only play Mario and Zelda games, and probably something more mainstream from the PS3 and stuff, and when I played this game I was so blown away that I can't really describe it. It is just my favorite game ever and probably nothing will ever top it.

Absolutely phenomenal. Everything from the gameplay, to the environments, to the excellent story and characters, to the music, to the amount of content, is just perfect. I think there are games that are objectively better, but this is (for now) my favorite game I have ever played. It's an experience I hope everyone can have one day. Play this game if you haven't already, it's amazing.

EDIT: I like Xenoblade 2 the same amount, and Xenoblade 3 even more

I love xenoblade and i love my wife Melia Antiqua

fuck me this game was a life changer, it just took 3 attempts across a span of 4 years to get there but once I finally clicked with it, this baby became my favourite game of all time right up until something else dethroned it in 2023

I suppose it's blade did not cut deep enough

kino all the same, play xenoblade chronicles you scrubs

Best RPG on the Wii, hands down.

I never really liked overly anime stuff in general, hell I don't watch anime at all. This totally does feel like an anime type game. But a good one.

It's basically an RPG, just not in turns. Real time combat, combined with turns...sounds weird. Imagine a MOBA like League of Legends or something like that if you ever played something alike. The character and the party attack automatically every 2 second or so. But you can do special attacks as well, those have a cooldown depending on the what the attack in the menu is.

Position is key in this game. Or where you hit the enemy. Or where are you currently are. For example, a healer doesn't need to be in the center of the battle. It can be somewhat far from from it, but unless an enemy goes towards that healer you might need to protect him/her. Same goes, for example to characters specialized in long-range attacks.

The OST is godlike, pure orchesta goodness. For sure you'll find something you like here.

In short. It's a beautiful big adventure. Don't miss it if you own the Wii still. Can't say much about the Switch version since I haven't played it.

When a series has characters that you love so much that they feel like a second family and your love goes so deep that you're willing to forgive them for being British.

After nearly a decade of knowing about it, playing a bit of the Wii version, playing a good amount of 2, and then taking two years to finish it for some reason, I finally finished it and its incredible. See you in 10 years when I log Xenoblade X.

A phenomenal, one-of-a-kind RPG. The narrative gets a little lost in the sauce, but has tremendous highs along the way. Tactile and unique party-based combat makes the 100-hour runtime fly by.

Easily one of my favorite rpgs and just an absolute joy to experience. Gameplay is simple, but does its job but is not the reason to play. An amazing story, incredible soundtrack, fantastic characters, and maybe the coolest world in anything ever. A game with effective twists that are hinted at early and still are suprising later is hard to do, and this game does it multiple times.

Peak. plain and simple

In all seriousness, if you're willing to get past the not-so-outdated-but-still-sort-of-outdated gameplay (it's actually not) and janky Wii models you'll greet yourself to one of, if not the best game ever made. Peak story and world-building, a strong cast of characters, an amazing soundtrack that never grows old, engaging gameplay (yes sir), and every area in the game is beautifully crafted. The voice work is also some of the best in any game, whether it's in Japanese or in English.

It truly is one of those games.

PRIMEIRA VEZ NA VIDA QUE TIVE CONTATO COM A ABSTINÊNCIA DE UMA DROGA

Absolutely transcendent piece of media, that hooks you inescapably right from the title screen

i love this game and everything it stands for.

this is what all xenoblade games should strive to be.

remake is even better but i'm too lazy to find it so i do it here!
