While its content is a bit on the lean side, Miitopia is such dumb, charming fun that I end up not minding it.

Man, what a good-ass game.

I'm gonna be real, I'm not much of a FromSoft person. More accurately, I'm not much of a Souls person. However, I have had a soft spot for mecha for a very long time, and I've never really had an outlet with which to engage in it.

Enter stage left: Armored Core VI. This game had me fighting tooth and nail the entire first run through. It had me questioning the motives of characters all over again on the second. It had me letting all the story cogs fall into place on the third.

The plot is engaging the more you engage with it and think about it. The characters pop, with their AC designs, their vibrant personalities, and the stellar ENG voice acting (shoutouts Patrick Seitz, Erin Yvette, and DC Douglas). The graphics are stunning, with snowy mountains and fiery vistas. The gameplay is fast, responsive, and just... punchy, with sound design to back it up and enhance it. The music is moody, epic, and emotional.

I feel like I have an endless amount of praise for this game, and I only think of even more every time I think about the game. Even after completing all of the story missions, I still boot the game up to tinker with fun AC ideas and throw them at people in the online PVP mode.

Man, what a good-ass game.

Is the game comically simple in gameplay? Yes.

Does the game have some of the best ambient music I've heard? Yes.
Has the game stuck with me ever since the first time I played it? Yes.

Being on a different console and being developed by a different company than the two prior games, Spectrobes: Origins manages to keep things interesting with completely overhauled systems for combat, excavation, and monster interaction. While the story isn't anything spectacular, it's helped along by the characters and gameplay surrounding it.

A fun game to kill time in and hang out with friends. The continued updates and lack of microtransactions makes the asking price of $15 more and more worth it by the day.

The tower defense game of all time. Bloons TD as a series makes most other tower defense games feel unfun in comparison.

While the story isn't particularly anything to write home about, Fire Emblem Engage's varied gameplay systems and colourful cast of interweaving characters are... engaging, and keep the game entertaining, even when you're someone like me who goes out of their way to make the game easy.

I'm a sucker for Splatoon. Hero Mode is wonderful, and the main multiplayer gameplay loop is fun. I wish the idol group in Splatoon 3 had the same amount of personality as the groups in 1 or especially 2, and I wish that the map variety were wider, but ideally those will be fixed in time.

Nintendo wasn't lying, that Switch can Sports.

Probably the best open-world JRPG there is. I will die on this hill.

An incredibly fun mash-up of musou gameplay with Persona mechanics and characters that left me hungry for more.

While I do very much enjoy the game as it is, I desperately wish that A+ Games didn't almost immediately drop the ball when it came to supporting the game. Between the Switch's extended lack of parity on release and the lack of major updates, KLK:IF was kinda doomed to fail from the get-go.

Pokemon GO is a pretty good game that I can't get myself into that much because I am extremely lazy. The times that I have played it, the game has been pretty enjoyable, although the free-to-play nature of the game shows itself more and more with all of the progress you make.
