I play and review games I like

5 stars = masterpiece of a game (not necessarily perfect but worthy of being called a Magnum Opus/Awesometacular)

4 1/2 stars = an almost perfect game with maybe one or two geniune flaws, definitely worth buying at full price

4 stars = genuinely fantastic game with some issues but still worth buying at full price

3 1/2 stars = good but flawed game, wouldn't be a bad purchase at full price but a better purchase on sale

3 stars = passable/ok game, should probably wait for a sale

2 1/2 stars = mediocre/disappointing game, worth renting at best.

2 stars = below average game, maybe rent it but it's probably better to avoid it

1 1/2 stars = bad game, delete it from my memory

1 star = terrible game, please erase it

1/2 star = genuinely awful game, dogshit

Hyrule Warriors is a game of parts, some parts are really good, some parts were disappointing and poorly done.

I never played a Warriors game before so I come into this as a Zelda dude first and for most.

First off, the story was interesting although in classic zelda fashion, it is a little light, more light than usual at least despite the fairly incredible cinematics of the game.

The Characters can be fairly hit or miss, characters like Zelda, Impa, Shiek, Lana were well done and play really well, Link is a little less interesting in this game than other versions or him but he is serviceable with one particularly stand out moment of character development.

Other characters like Fi and Linkle were serviceable although a bit underused, while others were quite disappointing, I was really excited to see Midna back as she was easily the best part of Twilight Princess but ultimately this version of her felt more like an imitation of Midna than actually Midna, Skull Kid didn't do anything same as Ruto, Darunia was really slow and not fun to play with, the bug girl Agatha really didn't need to be in the game especially when other characters like Vaati could've been included.

The characters that really stood out in this game though in both story and (especially) gameplay were some of the villains.

Cia was an interesting newcomer to the series and while at first she feels a little under cooked the added expansions really help flesh her out in terms of gameplay and story turning her around from one of the weaker parts of the game to one of it's most memorable parts.

Always a pleasure to see Ghirahim again and he is probably my favourite character to play as in the entire game, he's lots of fun.

While the game didn't add much new lore to Ganondorf, he was alot of fun to play with his segment being my favourite part of the game and seeing him interact with characters like Ghirahim and Zant was a dream come true.

Speaking of Zant, he was fine but he was ultimately the weakest of the villains in this game which is quite strange since (for a while at least) I believed that Zant in Twilight Princess was better antagonist than Ghirahim in Skyward Sword but oh well.

One thing this game can definitely not be faulted for is it's character designs, seriously from Link to Zelda to Ganondorf to even the newcomers like Lana and Cia, the character designs are some of the best in the Zelda series and overall visually is one of the parts were this game excels.

As for the gameplay itself and like alot of things in Hyrule Warriors, it is a mixed bag.
While it can be interesting at times, alot of what you do ends up feeling very same-y and repetitive and once you play a couple of levels consecutively it really starts to get dull and boring and start feeling like a slog to get through.

Overall, Is Hyrule Warriors as good as normal Zelda games usually are? No.
Is it a bad game? Also no.
It's a good time waster with a decent story, some fun characters, ok combat as long as you don't binge through it.
I would say it's worth trying out if you're a zelda fan at least once and for that, I'll say it's worth buying at sale price.

I have had this game backlogged for who knows how long and now that i've actually played it am wondering...why didn't I play it sooner?

Seriously this game was a blast, great gameplay that has surprisingly aged very well for a 20 year old game, a great story, one of the best stories in Metroid actually (although I do feel Samus does feel a little too dramatic at times)

Boss fights were very hit or miss however and unfortunately it does seem to drag on a bit by the end which is weird because the game in total is like less than 5 hours long but still most of the game was very exciting and despite some issues, Metroid Fusion definitely scratched my metroid itch and more.

Overall very pleased with this one and it now would rank as my 2nd favorite Metroid game only behind Metroid Dread.

Despite being a big fighting game fan, this was my very first entry into the Street Fighter series as I was never able to get into Street Fighter for some reason, however despite that, Street Fighter 6 was and continues to be alot of fun and a great addition to the wonderful bunch of games this year.

It's mechanics are absolutely wonderful, the modern control scheme is a game changer for fighting games and although some may say it makes things too easy, it helps bring in people who were not really fans of Street Fighter (like myself) or fighting games into it.

World Tour while a fun rpg style mode, is quite lacking in terms of story despite some intriguing moments here and there but ultimately as a fighting game, Street Fighter 6 does it's job and more and is a welcome edition to the fighting game genre.
