first playthrough ever, while theres some frustrating aspects to it they dont really matter in the end. they dont make em like this anymore

ichiban is the greatest video game protagonist of all time

its cool wish i didnt suck at video games so i could beat it

oh boy an open world game where you hunt collectibles and unlock portions of the map with a shambled together story trying to hold it together. AGAIN

Holds up super well (played for the first time in 2022) even tho some of the level design kinda ass

Persona 5 has done irreperable damage to JRPG design

Dropped this like 90% of the way through im sorry combat just got so fuckin tedious and the FFXIV style side quests did absolutely nothing for me. Weird MMO design sensibilities in this that didnt click. It was pretty and I liked the characters tho

One of these days I need to go back and play the full game with all patches and DLC. I played the launch edition and didn't have a bad time tho!

If cutscenes were skippable it would get that missing half star because I've spent too many hours of my life watching the pre-Yunalesca fight cutscene.

Played on Xbox Series S, whatever port this is is so janky and constantly crashed on me. The game is a pretty fun product of its time but I dont think it has enough going on to be compelling in these days.

This was so much fun to play on launch, completely ignoring the possibility of guides online and just talking it through with friends who were also playing and taking my own notes on it. What an experience

Loved this game as a kid but on a replay I dont think it holds up for me. Its fairly quick and fun but I dunno there aint too much there

This is my favorite Dragon Quest. I don't think you should let the long runtime scare you, the story is handled in many small vignettes that take 2-4 hours a piece. It's a great game to pick up and play in chunks over a long period of time.
