Yeah, this was a pretty good DLC. The music is better and the bosses were definitely a step up in terms of visual flair. The king's challenges were brilliant. Definitely a worthy addition for only $7. Personal favorites in this game were the Dogfight and the Moonshiners. Some attacks still seem like they were meant to screw you over, like those geese crossing signs and the ant girl being where you need to go, but still, it was a blast!

Nothing like monkeying around with some bloons and popping them. Easy to get the hang of and easily addictive.

I mean, it's a fine enough Zelda/Dark Souls styled love child, and the world looks nice...but man, I am so not crazy about the camera or combat. I know that this game is all about trying to make you feel lost and feel like you're understanding the world with its foreign language, but it just didn't click with me. It just doesn't really feel like that fun of game. But than again I am not really a Zelda guy, so who knows; maybe you'll get more out of it than me.

It's at least better than the two other Mario sports games on the Switch. The stage hazards are gone, characters only have two winning animations and one losing animation. The special event matches from Wii are gone as well. The sidekicks are gone. The items are fewer and no character-specific items...

But, the animations for the characters on the field are a great detail, with them reacting to getting a goal, losing a goal, getting to have the ball at kickoff after a goal, and their own trophy-winning animations. Boom Boom even reacts differently to each and every Hyper Strike, getting affected by it in each unique way. Online is stronger and more focused on clans and fighting other clans. You can make your own club team outfits, club team names, and even use them in random online battles. And the base game is still fun. It's not just a novel distraction like golf was.

It's a 7 out of 10, but it only BARELY owns that 7.

This is just a game that puts a dumb little smile on my face. It's definitely not the best collection of Pac-Man Games. The lack of any Pac-Man World games is still a crime, but the games we do have give me a nice warm smile. Hope we get some sort of World DLC with all three Pac-Man World games.

Honestly, looking back on all the creativity in this game and how great it is to control, I wish this franchise had more love. Unfortunately, someone on the Dev team had to be forced to take the walk of shame because he did some non-family-friendly stuff. Yeah, it's not the deepest fighting game. Sure, the sex stuff is through the room, but when you can play as a 13-year-old girl who got crippled by the mafia and can fight using cartoon gags, I have to admire the creativity.

Also, Peacock can beat Tricky the Clown. I refuse to elaborate further.

Yeah, the shoot 'em up a level was pretty annoying, but honestly, aside from that, this was just a silly and fun time all around. It could do a bit more with the whole multiverse idea, and fix the controls more, but honestly, it was a blast to play. The gimmicks were unique and fun and they never overstayed their welcome. The puzzles were fun to solve, and this was just oozing that Newgrounds charm. Honestly worth checking out. You can finish it in a hour or two.

On the Layton side, the puzzles are cute and charming, and I do feel nice and smart for solving them...

On the Phoenix Wright side...eh, not really my thing. Sorry, but the Phoenix Wright games never really managed to grab my interest. It's neat see these two franchises cross paths, but as someone who could be considered a fan of one but not the other, it doesn't work for me.

Absolutely fine little game about being annoying as a goose, and nothing more. It doesn't need to be anything more, but it is good, albeit just good. Nothing really that great, but still worth at least one playthrough.

Not too long, easily digestible with unique puzzles, and minimalism storytelling is done well. Good stuff all around.

So, we are going to be getting that sequel soon...right?

Definitely a fun little adventure that you can finish in one sitting, but not worth $15.

2017

It was perfectly fine and serviceable but definitely couldn't get off the ground in the end. Maybe if it was called "Legs" instead...
