I guess in my ultimate faux pas i'll say as much as i enjoyed the game i really felt like VII hit the right parts that this game wouldn't always do, however i can appreciate the more diverse set of characters/mechanics and the very non linear last 3rd

Wonderful game that hooks you from start to finish even today, this is one of those cases where the game absolutely did live up to it's hype

Honestly this is probably the hardest game to really review because this game is kind of really good at being itself and is hard to compare to anything else, the best i can say is it's a deeply charming adventure game that i think you need to play to truly understand

This game really nails the mixture of quirkiness and a more dark and cynical surrealness that many games can't really acheieve (even the sequel), also Travis is the only asshole protagonist i could really roll with while playing the game

this game does wear somewhat thin by the end but the majority of the game is a wonderful time, it's also really good at giving you that feeling of the vastness and mystery of space that the sequel mostly threw out of the water sadly.

The best mario game in every aspect except for gameplay, this game really is an amazing game held back by its funky controls and very hit and miss level ideas. For every few levels which are incredible fun you meet that one that stumps you and wastes your time, souring the whole mood. Nintendo should still try and make more games like this however

a very strange and archaic mess of a game, it has a butt load of niche and specific tools and parkour being locked to running makes a good idea more of a hassle than fun. It's attempts to emulate nintendo's aesthetics also lose a lot of the personality of the series had, especially the deadly six, who might be most unfitting and bland characters the series ever had

above average slay the spire clone that can get dull pretty fast

great fighting game with a small but very distinct feeling cast, great animations and does the best job of demystifying the genre i've seen in any fighting game

the story is a lot better than people give it credit for and goes into some surprisngly bold territory, but the game is ultimately sonic adventure 1's gameplay but with some weird design changes for the worse, extra points for the best chao garden.

underneath all the jank lies a vision of the perfect 3d sonic game, just please install some mods to fix the myriad graphical issues sega lets this game have on pc

it's a servicable but bland super monkey ball clone, play if you really are desperate for more monkey ball

One of the most unique non independent games ever made, nothing ever since has really hit that feeling ape escape 3 did, gets extra points too because games are just better when they are about monkeys

the most boundary pushing, tightly written and experimental of the mario games of any kind, unsurprisngly, nintendo also hates this game

No other 3d Platformer since have come to the level of perfectly sized, densely packed level design, personality and variety banjo kazooie has
