Probably the best "classic" JRPG.
Breezy, bite-sized adventure in the vein of Symphony of the Night that you can take on the go. The combat can feel stiff at times, but the action is mostly satisfying. I also loved exploring the castle, even though the backtracking got to be a little bit tedious.
Maybe this is a bad comparison, but playing this game reminded me why I connect more with 2D animation than 3D animation: when you can feel how each frame presented has been lovingly handcrafted by immensely passionate programmers, you can't help but look at it in complete awe. I'm insanely impressed with what this team was able to accomplish with such a limited toolset, and how the story of this game was allowed to be as weird as it was. I'm going to replay this game at least once a year every year until I get sick of it.
