Exhibit A for why there are right and wrong ways to play games. It's an FPS with the depth of a character action game, and they've achieved that by forcing you to play in the most fun way possible - jumping and dashing around like a maniac while switching weapons and using all your abilities all the time. It's the only game I've ever played where I can't do more than one or two levels at a time, because it's too intense and I get tired from playing it.

Super addictive. Cannot put this down. Bubble wrap gaming

Ive spent alot of time wondering why this game gets away with being one large ironic meme and other games dont as much, and I feel like Ive figured it out. This will sound crazy, but really think about it: the answer is restraint. It rides the line really well and thats how it elevates itself above its less memorable peers.

Just take the Mario segment for example. It is just an asset rip and naked reference to another popular preexisting game - and yet almost no one remembers it as that or feels that way about it. Clearly there was a transformative execution there.

This is how having insects under your skin feels like

how the fuck is this even possible in doom

Only an OK story, but the gameplay gimmick SUPERHOT presents to you is so strong it doesn't really matter. Incredibly stylish.

On the first twilight, rejoice at the greatest of all time.
On the second twilight, those who remain shall experience the hallmark of media.
On the third twilight, those who remain shall praise the zenith of the medium.
On the fourth twilight, experience the apogee of creativity.
On the fifth twilight, experience the vertex of invention.
On the sixth twilight, experience the pinnacle of innovation.
On the seventh twilight, experience the epic of epics.
On the eighth twilight, experience the legend among legends.
On the ninth twilight, the gold standard of storytelling shall revive, and no 'mid' shall be left.
On the tenth twilight, at Journey's end, you shall attain to the power of Peak Fiction, once and for the last time.

Peak Fiction shall praise the wise and bestow four treasures.
One shall be 'Goat'.
One shall be 'Raw'.
One shall be 'Kino'.
One shall be 'Fire'.

Sleep peacefully, my beloved media, Peak Fiction.

aaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa.

WOW what an experience this was. i completed this several years back and still think about it regularly.

i adore the sprite animations a lot !! i really couldnt guess where the story was going at all. really really engaging. i love the characters a lot. junpei is so fucking funny.

tried very hard not to cry.

the final puzzle was... sorta disappointing on steam, but i get it. they cant really do what they did with the original for it. it didnt hamper my enjoyment of it as a whole at all however. you gotta experience this game.

"people are only saved when someone understands them."

man...
umineko is a story that hits hard the first time, and hits eight times harder on subsequent rereads. what is there to even say.

also the detective has entered my home and wont leave now.

Yeah yeah laugh it up guys. The Tidus laughing scene is one of the most emotional scenes in gaming. Disappointed in you guys.

The fact that this game started as a Residen Evil, gives it a dismal atmosphere that you can't really find in the sequels. The fixed camera sometimes hinders your movement, but in general the fights are fun. The game is so short that it doesn't feel tedious to do all 3 difficulties. The worst part of the play through is the first phase of Mundus, i really hate that shoot em' up segment.

there's some stuff in this game that's just kind of burned into my brain forever. but like in a cool way not really a scary way
