Despite what people say about turn based style or difficulty, this is a very solid One Piece game and a decent JRPG.
Do not be put off by the first chapter. The first chapter is essentially a tutorial, all of the enemies are extremely easy and you level up quite fast to introduce you to the combat, bonus EXP mechanics and the like. In similar JRPG fashion, the game gets a lot more difficult after Chapter 1, and beyond chapter 2 the combat and character building starts to get a lot more lush with the introduction of the crafting system.
The party member rotation mechanic mixed with the Rock-Paper-Scissors weakness and field quadrant systems makes combat smooth and fun. Each character has their niches and uses without any Straw Hat being lackluster.
My main complaints with the game are minor to me, but could be major to some. I wasn't a fan of the needless backtracking in the main story and lack of fulfilling sidequests and NPC interactions. The movement speed for sprint is also far too slow for a game with maps this large.
Side quests themselves are typically fetch quests, bounty hunts, or backtracking related, and rewards aren't incredible. Admittedly I skipped most of them after the beginning so they likely get better, at least in the reward department.
NPC dialogue is usually pretty bland but there are a few references and easter eggs super fans will like. The main story itself is really good, akin to the quality of a One Piece Movie in my opinion. Seeing how the crew interacts in situations theyve never been in (like the entire crew being with Luffy for Marineford and the half of the crew that was absent being present for Dressrosa, Etc), and getting to relive each arc with twists and alterations to canon is interesting. It's a nice deviation from the standard formula of just making the manga/anime's story into a game directly.
Overall a 7/10 game, coming from a major One Piece fan. The game is worth playing to dip your toes into the One Piece universe and to get loosely acquainted with a few of its main story beats, and great for super fans like myself to have a nice 40 hour experience within the series.

I beat the original PSP release of this game, and it is absolute evil incarnate. The game is balance so fucking badly and has so many rollercoaster ups and downs of easy to abysmally unfair, but at it's core there's a very fun battle system and a unique portable anime rpg. Literally everything was improved in the 3DS version, so definitely play that instead but good lord. Expect to grind your face off way beyond what's expected of a typical RPG and to completely suffer at the end of the game

Incredibly underrated gem. This horror game had some of the most interesting lore, characters, and presentation I have seen in a very long time. The graphics and sound design are extremely impressive for a 2003 game.
The gameplay was incredibly fun for a horror game imo. Most horror games are a lot of wandering until you stumble your way into the next cutscene to advance the story. This game operates with mission objectives, in which you clearly know what the goal of each level is. Some would call the game tedious or difficult, since it is a lot of revisiting areas and trial and error, but each map changes significantly on each revisit. To me, this serves to make you feel more acquainted with and immersed in the town that is afflicted by this curse you're trying to uncover the truth of. Each map also has key locations and points of interest, so as long as you remember those you won't have any trouble.
The English dub is a bit shoddy, but it only adds to the old school PS2 era horror charm. Great game, 8.5/10.

This game is fucking awesome, really good 3D platformer but its hard as shit at the end for no reason. Physics in this are trash but in a kinda good way, if you wiggle your stick at all times during movement you go faster and its sus as fuck. Level design is nice and simplistic but can also be a fair challenge for all ages. 7/10

Improved on RE1 in every way. Story and characters are a bit more rich, the music is an incredible step up from the last game and one of my favorite horror OSTs period. The visual aesthetic is unmatched in the classic PS1 era for horror.
Gameplay is amazingly fun, so fun that I can play it over and over again just to get my rank higher and time lower. Hunk and Tofu scenarios were great side modes as well. 9/10
