Very cool to see the developers give some commentary and explain their process of design. Not going to give a star rating as it is less of a game and more of a tech demo.

Very good but I have arachnophobia and the black head crabs make me want to cry

Simple yet fun.
Very charming art style.
Great music.

sometimes progression was behind a very discrete breakable wall which was frustrating. Most of the time however the exploration was very fun and making it from one save point to the next without dying proved to be very intense. Boss fights are quite dated as the controls dont allow fluid movement but for the time and genre are good.

Decent boss fights, I like the options to choose from different characters. The game is just very unfair at many different sections for example you will find yourself falling from one platform to the other but you cannot see that there is spikes below you because the screen is too small. This happens constantly and is just incredibly frustrating.

good puzzles but the jumping feels super unresponsive and mario just tends not to move the way you mke him sometimes

I wish I could give this game a higher rating and it is so frustrating that I can't.

The setting is incredible and definitely the biggest highlight of the game you roam around this vast abandoned land with incredible attention to detail and stunning visuals. The giant colossi work in contrast with the vast empty world to create a sense of awe that I have yet to experience in other media. Some of my favourite parts are just exploring this empty land as I found myself going off the made path a few times only to find nothing each and every time, yet it never felt like a waste of time as the graphics and style is just that beautiful that I actively want to see more of it. Besides the colossi themselves the world does have life that you can occasionally stumble upon such as lizards and birds flying right next to you and your horse which always feels magical.

The colossi are incredibly designed visually and going around killing them all can feel very sad as you are extinguishing these remarkable beings and putting an end to the majority of the life throughout this near dead land.

That being said the actual gameplay of fighting a colossus is a mixed bag. On one side each colossi is like a puzzle you have to figure out how to reach its weak point without dying yourself. When you finally realise what it is you are supposed to do and the amazing music in the background cheers you on as you defeat these impossible creatures it can be some of the best moments in any game. It is moments like these that made me see why it is so loved to this day.
That being said a lot of the time these moments can be ruined as it feels like you are fighting the games camera rather than the colossus as the camera tends to do its own thing making it so you cant even so your character often. This issue with the camera puts the game down an entire point for me it is honestly that fucking dreadful.

Bluepoint done an amazing job at updating the graphics but that seems to be all they did for this remaster as the game still plays like it is on the PS2. This brings me to another issue with the game. The controls. They are bad. Especially in certain sections of the game such as the final playable part which is impossible to control smoothly which for me ruined this otherwise amazing moment in the finale.

If there is another remaster or remake of this game it could be one of my favourites as I am in love with everything about this game in concept but in practice there are many glaring issues that prevent this from being the masterpiece it should be.

the characters look like they are twerking the whole game and its really funny. Thats the only redeeming quality...

Very good job on adding colour to this classic game. The world design of this game feels much more inspired than most other mario games and this extends to enemy design and boss fights. The final level has a very steep difficulty in comparison to the rest of the game which feels very strange. That being said this is a phenomenal and short platformer which is significantly better than the first mario land that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the genre.

Better than I had thought. The music is great and the game has some challenge. There is only one continue so the game has higher tension although since it is short it remains relatively easy overall. The hit detection on koopas can go die it is so fucking horrible sometimes. Its so interesting to look back on this game and see nintendo experimenting with the mario franchise, this is apparent throughout the game with easter island heads as enemies, underwater and flying levels where you shoot bullets, the variety of bosses and one of the enemies in the game just being a human. Overall a short fun game with a lot of jank.

was great when released but it is unfortunately so similar to MK8 in how it plays and feels that there is no real reason to revisit this one in comparison to more unique entries in the franchise. Also very underwhelming character selection especially considering this came out after wii which has great character selection.

This game has such a funky style I love it so much I wish they leaned into that aspect more often though. The movement is a lot more fluid and precise in comparison to previous entries in the franchise. Enemies are used for power ups much less often which is very unfortunate and even when they are used it sticks to the same few enemy types which is disappointing after the variety of enemies in the third instalment. The mini games that are included before boss fights are great additions and are a great way to break up the pace. The music is great especially the hurry up track which makes racing back to the start all that much more intense. Speaking of which having to run back to the start of each level after reaching the end is a very unique and fun idea that I wish more platformers used. Overall this game is a big improvement from the previous ones and is one of the most unique 2D platformers I have played.

played the coop this time which makes it hard to keep track of things but is still a great experience.

Got the platinum this time around!!!

Very amazing game my personal GOAT

God of War 3

Amazing environments and scenery
Environmental story telling throughout the game and even on the main menu
Final boss is 2 bosses at once (sort of) and one acts as a way to regain health for you and for zeus
good progression system for each time you kill a big boss you either gain their ability or their weapon
when unlocking a new weapon there becomes little to no reason to use the previously unlocked weapon
each new weapon lets you dodge faster
cool story
big action set pieces are cool
* quick time events are mostly frustrating
Overall a huge improvement from the first 2 games
