More polished in most areas besides the story in comparison to Human Revolution. The story definitely feels like it was cut down for a third entry that currently doesn’t exist as of 2022. Overall, Human revolution feels like the better game, but this is a nice follow up if you enjoyed that game.

The combat needs improvement, and it definitely hinges on your enjoyment of the story and characters. While I understand a lot of criticism for the gameplay and do think it needs a fair bit of improvement in future entries, this story is truly amazing and one of my personal favorites. The ending scene is probably my favorite scene in the entire Yakuza series.

Truly an amazing experience. While I do personally think the early pacing of the first game was slightly better, this game improved on nearly everything else, having a new fighting style and building upon previous mechanics led to a very fun combat system. The main story is still a great pillar of the game, with emotional moments and serious ideas explored with the interesting perspective provided by Yagami. The side content is quite enjoyable, and there’s a wide variety of options with the school story system that felt very fresh, reminiscent of Yakuza 5 and the many playable characters. This game isn’t perfect; but it has so much to offer, and the themes of truth and one’s “justice” were executed in tandem with a fun cast and intriguing story, allowing me personally to say this is my current favorite game from RGG studios, and a great sequel to Judgment/Judge Eyes.

Immensely flawed in some areas, but truly great in others. Has a mix of mediocre to great characters. This game isn't perfect, but it means a lot to me on a personal level and helped me reflect on myself. The third semester gives the game a big boost in quality as well, and definitely is the stand out part of the game.

Would be 5 stars if you remove the lame ass bird levels, and let Mario curbstomp the little bird piece of shit

This game is flawed with gameplay, however it is part 2 of one of my favorite stories of all time. The cast is amazing and they all feel realistic, and even by the end of the story I was learning more about them. This game has a heavy focus on Psychology; especially Jungian psychology and the workings of the human mind. The themes and messages are genuine and build on what was explored in Innocent Sin. if you can get past some dated elements, This game has a lot of great messages regarding humans and our world.

It isn't perfect, but I loved the gameplay and settings. The story is great aside from some moments in the plot disliked by avid fans, and the usage of the Batmobile can feel excessive. While I believe this game has worse bosses than Origins and Knight, the stealth and combat is so refined in this series finale, and I've come back to it many times over the years.

A game I’ve gone through several times. The soundtrack is amazing, the cast is fun and memorable, and the themes are very interesting to me personally. I only wish there was more of it
