This game is good and worth playing if you can find it on sale especially if you enjoy deflecting as this game is probably the closest since Sekiro to getting it right. If it was mapped to block I would have 0 complaints about it but it is on dodge which feels clunky.
The difficulty in this game which is subjective as always felt on the easier side than other Team Ninja games most bosses taking around 1-4 attempts. My main weapons were the polearm for the first half then dual blades which felt quite powerful. Boss health bars are strange in this because most of the time you aren't dealing that much damage to them until you deflect the move with the red flash and do the big attack which chunks them down. This fact probably will make or break the game for you if you can or cannot deflect those attacks at least otherwise boss fights would take forever.
One thing I enjoyed which most other reviews dislike is the morale system mainly because it feels as if it devalues your equipment. I do understand this but I felt my damage go up with my equipment and when I changed my slots and set bonuses around. The feature does make you explore the map though or fight every enemy as you go because if you go into a boss with a lower morale rank than the bosses which is usually 20 you will have a much more difficult time with the fights because your overall damage goes down and the damage the boss deals goes up which does work the other way round if you have the higher morale rank.
I can not comment on the story because I personally couldn't follow it no matter how hard I tried. To many people and names which I am awful at remembering names.
The area designs are all unique from one another (except the sub missions which reused zones usually shrinking them down) and are all decent to explore. The one I remember most fondly is the bamboo forest with cave towards the beginning of the game I think it was mission 3 it was nice and vibrant. My least favourite level was the foggy hellscape towards the end of the game I hated that.
This is probably at the top of my list for my favourite souls like game I have played because of the creative boss designs, levels and combat system which it will be pretty hard to top. This game gets a lot right through the trial and error of the Nioh series but has succeeded greatly in making a fun but challenging game.

As weird and wacky as the base game. A perfect DLC I would say, it is split into 3 different episodes following Rose, Jesse Faden from Control and Breaker. The first one is combat based and very silly, the 2nd one focuses in on the horror and the 3rd is just insane really. You really don't want to miss out on these they are amazing and well worth the amount you pay for it.
